The visitors turned a competitive first half into a one-sided affair after the break, outscoring Spartak 51-37 over the final two quarters to secure a convincing win.

Match Overview

Subotica Spartak came out with energy in front of their home crowd, using an early 8-2 run to take a brief lead. Bosna settled in behind steady three-point shooting and took a 22-20 edge after the opening quarter. The second period was a back-and-forth battle, with Spartak tying the game at 38-38 before Bosna closed the half on a 6-2 spurt to lead 44-42 at the break.

The third quarter proved decisive. Bosna ramped up its defensive pressure, forcing Spartak into six turnovers in the first six minutes and converting them into transition points. A 12-0 run midway through the period pushed the lead to 62-48, and a buzzer-beating three-pointer gave the visitors a 72-57 advantage heading into the fourth. Spartak never recovered, as Bosna maintained a double-digit cushion the rest of the way.

Key Moments

• End of third quarter: Bosna’s shooting guard drilled a step-back three at the buzzer to cap a 10-2 run and make it 72-57, deflating the home crowd.
• Early fourth quarter: A steal and fast-break dunk extended the lead to 20 points, forcing Spartak to call timeout.
• Mid-fourth response: Spartak cut the deficit to 12 with a 7-0 run, but Bosna answered with an 8-0 burst of its own to put the game out of reach.

Tactical Story

Bosna’s 2-3 zone defense gave Spartak fits all night. The home side struggled to find rhythm from the perimeter, finishing just 5-of-24 from beyond the arc, and often settled for contested mid-range jumpers. Bosna’s defensive rebounding was superb, limiting second-chance opportunities and allowing the guards to push the pace. The visitors also dominated fast-break points, holding a 22-8 edge in transition. Spartak’s half-court offense became predictable, relying heavily on isolations that Bosna’s length disrupted.

Standout Players

Bosna’s backcourt led the charge, with their shooting guard pouring in a game-high 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting, including four three-pointers, to go with six assists. The center added a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds, controlling the paint on both ends. Spartak’s power forward was a bright spot with 19 points and eight rebounds, while their point guard contributed 14 points but was plagued by five turnovers. Bosna’s bench also outscored Spartak’s reserves 28-14, a key factor in the lopsided result.

Season Impact

The win lifts KK Bosna ASA BH TELECOM to a promising early-season position in the Adriatic Basketball Association League, reinforcing their playoff ambitions with a valuable road victory. For Subotica Spartak, the loss highlights the need to improve ball security and perimeter shooting if they hope to compete with the league’s upper tier. Spartak will look to regroup quickly, while Bosna returns home with momentum and confidence.
