Dubai Make Statement with 108-90 ABA League Win Over SC Derby

Dubai produced a commanding 108-90 victory over SC Derby on October 19, 2026, delivering one of their most complete offensive performances of the Adriatic Basketball Association League season. The home side controlled the pace from the opening minutes, punished SC Derby in transition and never allowed the visitors to build sustained momentum.

Match Overview

Dubai led 29-22 after the first quarter and extended the advantage to 55-44 at halftime. The third quarter proved decisive, with Dubai pushing the tempo and stretching the floor to take an 84-66 lead into the final period. SC Derby had brief scoring bursts but could not match Dubai’s shot-making or defensive pressure over the full 40 minutes.

Key Moments

The decisive stretch came late in the second quarter and carried into the third. Dubai went on a 9-0 run, capped by a transition three from Malik Ellison, to break the game open. Early in the third, Ellison added back-to-back outside shots that pushed the lead to 20 and forced SC Derby into a timeout. The visitors never recovered, and Dubai’s bench maintained the intensity through the fourth quarter.

Tactical Story

Dubai’s offense was built on pace, spacing and three-point volume. The guards pushed the ball after misses, the bigs set high screens to create driving lanes, and the shooters spaced the floor effectively. Defensively, Dubai forced SC Derby into turnovers and converted them into easy points. SC Derby found some success in the half-court when their guards attacked the paint, but their transition defense and rebounding were exposed throughout the night.

Standout Performers

• Malik Ellison (Dubai) — 28 points and 6 assists; controlled the game from the perimeter.
• Luka Petrovic (Dubai) — 20 points and 11 rebounds; dominant inside.
• Omar Al Shamsi (Dubai) — 12 points; provided valuable bench scoring.
• Nikola Pavlicevic (SC Derby) — 22 points; one of the few consistent threats for the visitors.
• Marko Radonjic (SC Derby) — 17 points; competed on the glass.

Season Impact

The win strengthens Dubai’s position in the ABA League standings and signals that they intend to be a serious factor in the playoff race. Their home form and offensive firepower make them a difficult matchup for any opponent. SC Derby, meanwhile, must regroup defensively after allowing 108 points. The final score of 108-90 tells the story of a Dubai team that was sharper, faster and more efficient on both ends.
