Final score: Peristeri Betsson B.C. 83, Maroussi B.C. 81.

Match overview

Peristeri Betsson controlled much of the game with balanced scoring and intelligent ball movement, but Maroussi B.C. refused to let the home side pull away. The visitors stayed within reach by knocking down timely three-pointers and attacking the offensive glass.

The game was tight throughout, with neither team able to put together a run big enough to feel safe. Peristeri’s offense looked smoothest when the ball moved through the paint and back out to the perimeter, while Maroussi’s best moments came in transition and from beyond the arc.

Key moments

Maroussi erased a modest fourth-quarter deficit and tied the game late, setting up a dramatic finish. Peristeri Betsson responded with a well-executed possession, scoring the go-ahead basket inside the final ten seconds. Maroussi had one last chance to tie or win, but a contested shot missed as time expired.

The decisive possession was a reflection of Peristeri’s patience. Instead of rushing a three-pointer, the home side worked the ball into a better position and trusted its half-court execution.

Tactical story

Peristeri Betsson B.C. won with balance. The home side had multiple players involved in the scoring and did not rely on one isolated threat. That made it harder for Maroussi to key in on a single player defensively.

Maroussi B.C. fought back by increasing its defensive pressure and forcing Peristeri into a few difficult possessions. The visitors also found success from three-point range, which kept the game close. In the end, however, Peristeri’s ability to score in the paint and make the final stop proved decisive.

• Peristeri’s balanced attack: The home side shared the scoring load and kept Maroussi guessing.
• Maroussi’s three-point shooting: The visitors used outside shooting to stay in the game.
• Final possession defense: Peristeri forced a tough look on Maroussi’s last play.

Standout performers

Peristeri’s guard play was important in the closing minutes, with smart decisions and a calm approach against Maroussi’s pressure. The home side’s interior players also made key contributions, scoring around the rim and helping on the defensive glass.

For Maroussi, the forward line was effective on both ends, providing scoring and energy. The visitors’ guards hit important shots to keep the comeback alive, but Maroussi could not quite complete the turnaround in the final seconds.

Greek Basket League standings context
