Olympiacos Piraeus B.C. continued their strong form in the Greek Basket League, defeating Kolossos Rhodes H Hotels Collection B.C. 99–83. The Reds controlled the game from the opening minutes, built a substantial lead by half-time and managed the contest calmly through the second half.

Match Overview

It was a professional, efficient display from the hosts. Olympiacos shared the scoring burden across the roster, moved the ball with purpose and never allowed Kolossos to establish any sustained momentum. The visitors from Rhodes had their moments — particularly with some sharp three-point shooting — but were ultimately outmatched on both ends of the floor.

Quarter-by-Quarter

• Q1: Olympiacos 26–20 Kolossos
• Q2: Olympiacos 25–19 Kolossos
• Q3: Olympiacos 24–22 Kolossos
• Q4: Olympiacos 24–22 Kolossos
• Final: Olympiacos Piraeus B.C. 99–83 Kolossos Rhodes B.C.

Key Moments

Olympiacos took control in the opening five minutes, jumping out to a double-digit advantage behind a series of transition baskets. Kolossos responded with a 7–0 run that trimmed the deficit, but a buzzer-beating three at the end of the first quarter restored the hosts' authority.

The game's decisive passage came midway through the second period, when Olympiacos rattled off nine unanswered points. That run pushed the margin to 18 and effectively settled the outcome, even though Kolossos fought gamely for the remainder of the evening.

Tactical Story

Olympiacos' advantage was most visible in the paint and on the glass. Their big men dominated the rebounding battle, creating second-chance opportunities and limiting Kolossos to single-shot possessions. Defensively, the hosts did an excellent job of containing dribble penetration, forcing the visitors into contested jumpers.

Kolossos deserve credit for their shooting — several of their perimeter players connected from well beyond the arc — but they struggled to generate easy baskets inside. Their zone defense in the second half slowed the pace somewhat, though Olympiacos had answers in the high post and from the corners.

Standout Performers

• Olympiacos' starting guard was the catalyst, dictating tempo and delivering timely scoring runs.
• The frontcourt pairing combined for a dominant rebounding performance, controlling both backboards.
• Kolossos' shooting forward was his team's standout, connecting repeatedly from three-point range.
• The visitors' bench contributed meaningful minutes and kept the score respectable in the fourth quarter.

Season Impact

For Olympiacos, this is another step in what has been a commanding domestic campaign. Wins like this — comfortable, controlled, with the roster rotated — help preserve energy for the demands of EuroLeague competition while keeping pressure on their rivals at the top of the Greek Basket League table.

Kolossos Rhodes leave Piraeus with a defeat but with positives to build on. Their perimeter shooting was a genuine threat throughout, and a 16-point loss on the road against one of the continent's strongest clubs is far from a disaster. They will look to convert this level of offensive performance into wins in the fixtures ahead.
