Organized by the Colombian Basketball Federation (Federación Colombiana de Baloncesto), this league brings together the nation's elite female athletes and most established clubs in a competition for the national championship. It represents the culmination of years of development and a significant commitment to growing women's sports in Colombia.

League Format and Competitive Landscape

The Super League season is structured to maximize competition and fan engagement. It generally features a regular season where all clubs play a balanced schedule, followed by a knockout playoff stage involving the top-placed teams. The finals are a major sporting event, often drawing significant media attention. The league not only crowns a national champion but also qualifies teams for international club competitions in South America, such as the Women's Basketball Americas League, putting Colombian basketball on the continental map.

Driving Excellence and National Team Success

The league is directly linked to the success of the Colombian women's national team, known as "Las Guerreras." It provides a high-level domestic training ground for national team players and is a key scouting pool for the coaching staff. The visibility and professionalism of the Super League inspire young girls across Colombia to take up the sport, creating a sustainable talent pipeline. Investment in the league, from both federations and private sponsors, is seen as an investment in the future of Colombian basketball on the international stage.
