Tchalou Women sweep Helchteren Women in straight sets

Tchalou Women delivered a dominant 3-0 victory over Helchteren Women in the Volley League Women on 25 October 2026, winning 25-18, 25-21 and 25-19. The visitors controlled the match from start to finish, combining aggressive serving with a well-organised block and efficient attacking play.

The straight-sets win gives Tchalou Women a full three points and strengthens their position in the Volley League Women standings. For Helchteren Women, it was a difficult evening against an opponent that consistently found answers in the key moments of each set.

Match overview

Tchalou set the tone early with a strong serving performance that disrupted Helchteren’s reception. The home side struggled to establish their first-tempo attack, and Tchalou’s block took full advantage. Even when Helchteren managed to keep rallies alive, the visitors had more variety in attack and greater composure in the closing points.

Helchteren showed spirit, particularly in the second set when they briefly threatened to make it competitive. However, Tchalou’s ability to raise their level when needed proved decisive. The visitors never allowed the match to slip into a genuinely tight finish, closing out each set with authority.

How the sets unfolded

• First set: Tchalou started strongly and built an early lead through aggressive serving and solid block coverage. Helchteren could not find a consistent response, and the visitors took the opener 25-18.
• Second set: Helchteren improved and stayed within touching distance for much of the set. Tchalou, however, found another gear late on and secured a 25-21 win.
• Third set: The visitors maintained their control and never let Helchteren build momentum. A balanced attacking display and disciplined defence completed the sweep with a 25-19 scoreline.

Tactical story: serving, blocking and balance

Tchalou’s serve was the foundation of their victory. By keeping Helchteren out of system, they limited the home side’s options and made their attacks easier to read. The block followed up well, closing the line and forcing Helchteren into difficult angles. When the block was beaten, Tchalou’s back-row defence was well positioned to keep the ball alive.

In attack, Tchalou showed excellent balance. Their setter involved the middle regularly, which kept Helchteren’s block honest and created space for the outside hitters. The visitors also managed the scoreboard well, never allowing Helchteren’s brief runs to become sustained momentum.

Standout performers

Tchalou’s opposite hitter delivered a strong all-round performance, scoring important points in each set. The setter was influential in controlling the tempo, while the libero provided stability in reception and defence. Helchteren’s captain and middle blocker worked hard to keep the home side competitive, but the team as a whole struggled to match Tchalou’s consistency.
