Key moments

Radom’s first-set win was built on a strong block and efficient attacking from the wings. They led for most of the set and closed it with confidence. Mielec responded well in the second, tightening their serve-receive and finding more success through the middle. That adjustment helped the visitors level the match and set up a tense third set.

The third set was a seesaw affair. Radom edged ahead late and took it 25-23, moving within one set of victory. But Mielec’s response in the fourth was emphatic. They established an early lead, kept Radom from stringing together points, and forced a deciding set. In the fifth, Mielec broke away after a tight start and held their advantage down the stretch, closing out the match 15-12.

Tactical story

Mielec’s serving became more aggressive as the match wore on. They targeted Radom’s passing lanes and forced the home side into more predictable attacks, which allowed the Mielec block to load up on the wings. The visitors also defended well in transition, turning several Radom attacks into counterattacking opportunities.

Radom’s best periods came when their setter kept the middle involved and their outside hitters attacked against single blocks. However, they struggled to maintain that balance in the fourth and fifth sets. A handful of unforced errors in the deciding set proved costly, while Mielec remained composed and converted the points that mattered most.

Standout performers

Mielec’s opposite hitter was a reliable outlet throughout, especially in the fourth and fifth sets, while the setter did well to vary the attack and keep Radom’s block off balance. The middle blocker also contributed key stops in the closing stages. For Radom, the outside hitter produced several important kills, and the libero made a number of impressive defensive plays, but the home side could not quite sustain their best volleyball through the final set.

TAURON Liga Women impact

The five-set win gives Mielec Women valuable momentum in the TAURON Liga Women standings and demonstrates their ability to win tight matches on the road. For Radom Women, the defeat will feel like a missed opportunity after taking a 2-1 lead, but the performance showed plenty of attacking quality. Both teams now turn their attention to the next round, with Mielec looking to build on a resilient comeback and Radom seeking a quicker response.
