Zeleznicar Women delivered a ruthlessly efficient home performance in the Superliga Women, dismantling Napredak W 3-0 with set scores of 25-17, 25-14 and 25-19. It was a match defined by serving pressure and defensive discipline, with the visitors unable to establish any sustained foothold across the three sets.

Match overview

Zeleznicar came out with clear intent, targeting the seams in Napredak's reception line and forcing the visiting setter to work from deep in the court. The result was a stream of predictable attacking situations that the home block handled comfortably. Napredak showed fight in the third set and briefly led early on, but Zeleznicar's response was swift and clinical.

Key moments

• Set 1: A five-point serving run midway through the opener turned a tight start into a comfortable 25-17 lead.
• Set 2: Zeleznicar's block dominated, restricting Napredak to just 14 points — the lowest total of the match.
• Set 3: Napredak edged ahead at 8-6, but the hosts responded with a 7-1 run and never looked back.

Tactical story

The home side's game plan revolved around making Napredak's first contact difficult. With reception pushed off the net, Napredak's attack became one-dimensional, and Zeleznicar's defenders positioned themselves accordingly. In transition, the hosts were sharp and decisive, converting broken plays into points far more often than their opponents.

Standout performers

Zeleznicar's outside hitters shared the scoring burden effectively, while their libero produced another reliable evening in defence. The home setter's decision-making in the third set, when the match briefly tightened, was a notable highlight. Napredak's brightest moments came from their opposite hitter, who fought hard against a well-drilled block.

Season impact

Three points and a dominant set ratio strengthen Zeleznicar's position early in the Superliga Women season and send a clear message about their credentials at home. Napredak W leave empty-handed but can take some encouragement from a competitive third set as they look to build momentum in the coming rounds.
