Praia Clube Women secured a 3-1 road win over Brusque W in the Superliga Women on Sunday, October 25, 2026, recovering from a second-set setback to take control of the match with superior blocking and a deeper attacking bench.

The set scores were 22-25, 25-21, 19-25 and 20-25. Praia Clube’s ability to raise their level in the third and fourth sets made the difference, while Brusque W were left to rue a missed opportunity after briefly levelling the contest.

Match overview

Praia Clube Women started the stronger side, edging a tight first set 25-22. Their serve-receive was stable and their opposite hitter found rhythm early, giving the visitors a narrow but deserved lead.

Brusque W responded impressively in the second. Backed by their home crowd, they increased their service pressure and forced Praia Clube into a series of difficult attacking situations. A late run gave Brusque the set 25-21 and brought the match level. At that point, the contest looked likely to go the distance.

Praia Clube had other ideas. The visitors reasserted control at the net in the third set, building a lead through blocks and efficient transition play. Brusque struggled to find clean attacks against a well-formed wall, and Praia Clube took the set 25-19. The fourth followed a similar pattern: Brusque stayed close early, but Praia Clube’s serving and blocking created separation in the final third, closing out the match 25-20.

Key moments

• First set, 20-20: Praia Clube won four of the next six points, with a block and a back-row kill sealing the opener.
• Second set, 18-18: Brusque W produced a decisive serving run, forcing Praia Clube out of system and opening the door to a 25-21 win.
• Third set, 12-10: Praia Clube’s block began to dominate, leading to a 6-1 run that broke the set open.
• Fourth set, 17-16: Praia Clube pulled away with a composed 5-1 burst, capped by an ace that silenced the home crowd.

Tactical story

Praia Clube’s blocking was the backbone of the win. The visitors read Brusque’s attacking patterns well, especially from the left side, and forced the home hitters into repeated recycled balls. That defensive pressure allowed Praia Clube to counterattack efficiently and keep Brusque from building long scoring runs.

Brusque W’s best spell came in the second set, when their serve disrupted Praia Clube’s reception and created one-on-one opportunities at the net. But the home side could not maintain that level. Praia Clube’s setter adjusted by spreading the attack more evenly, involving the middle blockers and back-row attackers to keep Brusque’s block guessing.

Standout performers

Praia Clube’s opposite hitter was the match’s most reliable scorer, particularly in the third and fourth sets when the visitors needed to close out long rallies. The team’s middle blockers also made a major impact with their blocking and quick attacks, while the libero provided steady passing and defense.

For Brusque W, the outside hitters showed fight and creativity, and the libero produced several highlight-reel digs. The setter kept the team competitive in the second set, but Brusque needed more consistent production from the right side to counter Praia Clube’s block.

Superliga Women table impact

The victory strengthens Praia Clube Women’s position in the Superliga Women standings and underlines their ability to win on the road against organized opponents. Brusque W take a point from the match but will view it as a missed chance, especially after levelling the contest at 1-1. The home side’s next challenge will be to turn promising spells into complete sets.
