Slavia Bratislava Women advanced in the Slovakia Cup Women with a 3-0 victory over Nove Mesto nad Vahom Women on 21 October 2026, producing a professional cup performance built on serving pressure, solid blocking and efficient finishing.

Cup tie overview

Slavia won the sets 25-17, 25-20 and 25-16. The home side was in control from the opening rally, establishing an early lead in each set and never allowing Nove Mesto nad Vahom to build sustained momentum. The straight-sets win moves Slavia Bratislava Women into the next round of the competition.

Key moments

The first set was effectively decided by a Slavia serving run midway through, which turned a close score into a comfortable advantage. Nove Mesto nad Vahom struggled to contain the pace of Slavia’s attack, and the home block began to dominate at the net.

In the second set, the visitors briefly threatened to make it a contest, but Slavia responded with a run of points that included two blocks and a service ace. The third set followed a similar pattern: Slavia took an early lead, kept the error count low and closed out the match without drama.

Tactical story

Slavia Bratislava Women used their serve to disrupt Nove Mesto nad Vahom’s reception and limit the visitors’ options in attack. With the opposition often forced into predictable outside sets, Slavia’s block was able to set up early and direct the ball to the back-row defence. The home side also varied their own attack well, mixing middle attacks with pins to keep the block guessing.

Nove Mesto nad Vahom showed glimpses of quality in defence, but the team could not generate enough consistent offence to stay with Slavia. The visitors’ best moments came when they managed to extend rallies, but too many points ended quickly through unforced errors or blocked attacks.

Standout players

• Slavia’s outside hitter: led the team with 16 points and was effective in both front-row and back-row attacks.
• Slavia’s middle blocker: recorded five blocks and controlled the net throughout the match.
• Nove Mesto nad Vahom’s libero: made several good defensive reads, even as the team came under sustained pressure.

Cup impact

The win gives Slavia Bratislava Women a place in the next round of the Slovakia Cup Women and builds confidence ahead of their league commitments. For Nove Mesto nad Vahom, the cup exit is a disappointment, but the match offers clear areas for improvement, particularly in reception and attacking consistency. Slavia will be pleased with the straight-sets win and the control they showed across all three sets.
