Roma Women secured a 3-1 home victory over Altino Women in Serie A2 Women on 25 October 2026. After taking the first set comfortably, Roma dropped the second but responded strongly to win the next two and close out the match 25-19, 22-25, 25-20, 25-18.

Match overview

Roma started with purpose, using aggressive serving and a well-organized block to take the opening set 25-19. Altino improved in the second set, raising their attacking tempo and taking advantage of some Roma inconsistencies to level the match with a 25-22 win.

The third set was the key passage of the match. Roma re-established control through better first-contact volleyball and more disciplined transition play, winning it 25-20. They carried that momentum into the fourth set, where they pulled away late to complete a solid four-set victory.

Key moments

• Roma’s strong serving in the first set created early separation and set the tone for the match.
• Altino’s second-set response was built on improved attack variation, but it proved to be their only set win.
• At 20-20 in the third set, Roma produced a decisive run of points behind a block and two transition kills.
• In the fourth set, Roma’s defence converted several long rallies into scoring opportunities, ending Altino’s resistance.

Tactical story

Roma’s victory was built on balance. Their setter distributed the ball effectively across the front row, keeping Altino’s block guessing and creating one-on-one opportunities for the pin attackers. The home side also defended well at the back, allowing them to stay patient in rallies and wait for Altino to make mistakes.

Altino’s best spell came in the second set, when their serve disrupted Roma’s reception and their attackers found ways through the block. However, they could not sustain that level. Roma’s adjustment in the third set, particularly in serve-receive and block positioning, limited Altino’s options and restored the home side’s control.

Standout performers

Roma’s outside hitters carried a heavy scoring load and delivered in key moments, especially during the third-set surge. Their middle blockers also contributed important stops and quick attacks that kept the offence varied. Altino’s libero produced several impressive defensive plays, and their opposite hitter was a consistent threat, but the visitors needed more support around those efforts.

Standings impact

The 3-1 win gives Roma Women a valuable home result in the early Serie A2 Women standings and shows their ability to respond after losing a set. For Altino Women, the defeat leaves them with lessons to take from the second set, where their aggressive approach worked well. Roma will look to build on the balance and composure they showed in the third and fourth sets, while Altino will aim to turn promising spells into full-match consistency.
