The straight-sets win sends Stara Pazova into the next round of the competition and highlights their credentials as one of the teams to watch in Serbian women's volleyball.

From the opening serve, Stara Pazova looked the sharper side. Their blocking and serving were a class above, and Beograd W never found a way to consistently challenge the home team's control.

Match Overview

The first set was competitive for the first ten points, with Beograd W matching Stara Pazova point for point. But a five-point serving run from Stara Pazova, capped by two aces, broke the set open. Beograd W called a timeout, but the momentum had shifted. Stara Pazova's block dominated the net, and they took the set 25-17.

The second set was even more one-sided. Stara Pazova raced to an 8-2 lead behind excellent serving and transition play. Beograd W struggled to string together any offence, and their passing errors allowed Stara Pazova to run their middle attack at will. The set ended 25-14.

Beograd W showed more fight in the third set, keeping the score close until 12-12. But Stara Pazova's experience told. They stepped up their block and defence, forcing Beograd W into a series of errors. A final ace sealed the match 25-19.

Key Moments

• First set, 10-10: Stara Pazova's five-point serving run, including two aces, turned a tight set into a comfortable win.
• Second set, 8-2: An early blitz put the set beyond doubt and demoralised the visitors.
• Third set, 12-12: Stara Pazova's late surge, powered by blocks and Beograd errors, closed out the match.

Tactical Story

Stara Pazova's dominance was built on their serve and block. They consistently targeted Beograd W's weaker passers, forcing the visitors into predictable high-ball attacks. With the block well-positioned, Stara Pazova recorded 10 team blocks and limited Beograd's attacking efficiency to under 35%.

Beograd W tried to adjust by using more back-row attacks, but Stara Pazova's floor defence was equally impressive. The home team's libero and wing defenders picked up numerous difficult balls, turning defence into quick counterattacks. It was a complete team performance.

Standout Players

Stara Pazova's middle blocker was the standout, finishing with 12 points, including five blocks and three aces. Her presence at the net disrupted Beograd's offence all evening. The outside hitter added 14 points and was particularly effective in the first and third sets. The setter distributed the ball superbly, keeping all attackers involved.

For Beograd W, the opposite hitter fought hard for 10 points, but she was often forced to attack against a well-formed double block. The libero made several impressive digs, but the team's overall passing and attacking errors were too costly.

Season Impact

This cup victory keeps Stara Pazova's season alive on two fronts and reinforces their status as a serious contender in the Serbia Cup Women. They will now look forward to the next round with confidence. Beograd W exit the competition disappointed but can focus on their league campaign, where they will hope to improve their consistency.

Stara Pazova's cup run demonstrates their depth and tactical discipline, and they will be a difficult opponent for any team remaining in the draw.
