Tactical story

The match was decided by small margins in serve, reception and composure. Vinkovci Women were at their best when their serve disrupted Pula’s first pass, allowing the block to set up and the defence to convert transition chances. Pula’s comeback in the second and fourth sets came through better first contact and a more patient attacking approach.

In the fifth set, Vinkovci simplified their game and relied on their most experienced attackers in key moments. Pula stayed close but could not find the same terminal consistency in the final few rallies. The home side’s ability to reset after losing the fourth set proved crucial.

Standout performers

Vinkovci Women’s opposite hitter was the leading attacking force, especially in the third and fifth sets. The libero also played an important role, stabilising the back court during Pula’s strongest runs. For Pula Women, the outside hitter kept the team in the match with a resilient scoring performance.

Season impact

The win gives Vinkovci Women an important result in the Prva Liga Women standings and rewards their composure in a five-set battle. Pula Women take the consolation point from the defeat and will be encouraged by their fighting display. With the table still taking shape, both sides will see this match as a useful measure of where they stand.
