Olimpik Women beat Vinkovci Women 3-1 in Prva Liga Women

Olimpik Women claimed a 3-1 home victory over Vinkovci Women in Prva Liga Women on 25 October 2026, winning 25-19, 22-25, 25-18, 25-21. After dropping a tight second set, Olimpik regrouped impressively and controlled the remainder of the match to secure an important result in the Croatian women’s second division.

The home side’s response after the second set was the story of the contest. Olimpik raised their serving intensity, tightened their block and found more consistent production from the wings, while Vinkovci were unable to reproduce the attacking rhythm that had earned them a set.

Match overview

Olimpik started well and took the opening set with a comfortable finish. Vinkovci responded in the second, improving their first-contact game and capitalising on a brief dip in Olimpik’s serving accuracy to level the match. The third set proved decisive: Olimpik re-established control early, built a lead through strong blocking and closed it 25-18. Vinkovci threatened in the fourth, but Olimpik’s experience and better transition play in the final phase sealed the win.

Key moments

• Opening set: Olimpik used a mid-set run to take control and finished the set with a comfortable margin.
• Vinkovci’s second-set reply: The visitors improved their serve-receive and attacked with more variety to level the match.
• Third-set separation: Olimpik’s block created a decisive gap, restoring the home side’s advantage.
• Fourth-set finish: Vinkovci stayed close until the final points, but Olimpik held their nerve to close out the match.

Tactical story

Olimpik’s win was built on serve-and-block pressure. When their serve landed with depth, Vinkovci’s attack became predictable, allowing Olimpik’s front line to set up and control the net. The home setter also managed the offence well after the second-set setback, spreading the attack and keeping Vinkovci’s defenders moving. Vinkovci’s best spells came when they passed well enough to use their middle attack, but they struggled to sustain that level once Olimpik increased the pressure in the third and fourth sets.

Standout performers

Olimpik’s captain led by example with important points in the third and fourth sets, while the team’s middle blocker was a strong presence at the net. The libero also contributed a series of steady defensive plays during Vinkovci’s best periods. For Vinkovci, the outside hitters fought hard and the setter kept the team competitive in the second set, but the visitors lacked the finishing touch in the closing stages.

Season impact

The result gives Olimpik Women a valuable home win in the Prva Liga Women campaign and strengthens their position heading into the next round. For Vinkovci Women, the defeat offers useful lessons, particularly in maintaining serve-receive quality under pressure. Olimpik will take confidence from their response after losing the second set, while Vinkovci will look to turn their encouraging spells into a more complete four-set performance.
