Berel VKO Women claimed a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Burevestnik W on 4 October 2026 in the Kazakhstan National League Women, winning 25-22, 22-25, 25-18 and 25-20 in a match that showcased both teams' attacking ambition. The home side's ability to reset after dropping the second set proved the difference in a contest that was far more competitive than the final margin suggests.

Match Overview

The 20:00 local time fixture brought together two sides with contrasting styles. Berel VKO, playing at home, relied on powerful serving and a physical presence at the net, while Burevestnik W built their game around disciplined defence, patient rallies and smart shot selection. The opening two sets followed that script almost exactly, producing a 1-1 split before the hosts took control.

The result gives Berel VKO a valuable three points in the National League Women table and reinforces their home-court strength, while Burevestnik depart with a solitary set but plenty of positives from their second-set performance.

Key Moments

• First set: Berel VKO edged a tight opening frame 25-22, breaking away from 20-20 with three consecutive points built on serve pressure and a decisive block.
• Second set: Burevestnik responded impressively, tightening their reception and finding success down the line. A late four-point run secured the set 25-22 and levelled the match.
• Third set: The hosts reasserted control immediately, racing to an 8-3 lead and never surrendering the advantage, closing it out 25-18.
• Fourth set: Burevestnik stayed within touching distance to 17-16 before Berel VKO produced their best volleyball of the night, finishing the match with a 25-20 set win.

Tactical Story

Berel VKO's success hinged on their ability to dictate tempo from the service line. When their jump serves landed in, Burevestnik's offence became one-dimensional and the home block could commit early to the wings. The third and fourth sets demonstrated this most clearly, as Berel repeatedly converted defensive touches into quick counter-attacks.

Burevestnik's best passage came in the second set, when their setter distributed cleverly between the middle and the pipe, forcing the Berel block to hesitate. That variation disappeared for long stretches afterwards, partly due to fatigue and partly due to the home side's improved serving discipline.

Standout Players

For Berel VKO, the opposite hitter was the match's most consistent attacking weapon, delivering in every set and particularly in the decisive fourth. The middle blockers grew into the game, contributing multiple blocks in the third set, while the libero set the tone with reliable reception and spirited defence.

Burevestnik W's outside hitters impressed with their shot variety, and their setter was the architect of the second-set revival. The team's fighting spirit in the fourth set, when they twice clawed back within a point, underlined why they remain a difficult opponent for anyone in the league.

Standings Impact

With the 3-1 win, Berel VKO strengthens their position in the National League Women standings and improves their set ratio, a detail that can carry real weight once the playoff picture begins to take shape. Defending home court against direct rivals is exactly the foundation on which a strong campaign is built.

For Burevestnik W, the defeat is a narrow one in performance terms even if the scoreline reads 3-1. If they can reproduce their second-set level across a full match, points will follow quickly.
