Aktobe delivered a professional away performance on 18 October 2026, defeating Taraz Jambil 3-0 in the National League. The visitors won 25-20, 25-17, 25-22, using superior serving and a well-organized block to keep the home side at arm’s length for most of the evening.

Taraz Jambil had moments of promise, particularly in the third set, but could not sustain enough pressure to change the course of the match. Aktobe’s consistency in side-out and their ability to score in transition proved decisive, giving the visitors a comfortable straight-sets win.

Match overview

How the match unfolded

The first set was reasonably tight until the midway point. Taraz Jambil stayed close at 12-12, with the home crowd helping to lift the team’s energy. But Aktobe gradually took control through a series of strong serves and disciplined block-defence combinations. The visitors moved ahead 18-14 and, despite a brief response from Taraz, closed the set 25-20.

Aktobe raised their level further in the second set. The visitors’ serve reception was clean, allowing their setter to use the middle and create one-on-one situations on the wings. Taraz Jambil struggled to contain the variety of the attack and fell behind early. Aktobe maintained a comfortable cushion throughout and took the set 25-17.

The third set was Taraz Jambil’s best response. The home side competed with more aggression and matched Aktobe through the early exchanges. At 18-18, the match briefly threatened to extend, but Aktobe found another gear in the closing rallies. A block point and two transition kills gave the visitors the edge, and they finished the set 25-22 to complete the sweep.

Tactical story: Aktobe’s control from the service line

Aktobe’s serving was the foundation of the win. The visitors served with purpose and kept Taraz Jambil’s reception under pressure, preventing the home team from running its preferred first-tempo attack. That allowed Aktobe’s block to set up early and work with the back-row defence, creating a steady stream of transition opportunities.

Taraz Jambil’s best spells came when their reception held and the setter could involve the middle. In the third set, the home side found more success by varying the attack and using the block-out shot intelligently. However, Aktobe’s defensive discipline and their ability to score from difficult situations proved too much to overcome.

Standout performers

• Aktobe’s opposite hitter: Provided a reliable scoring threat from the right side and delivered important points in the closing stages of each set.
• Aktobe’s middle blockers: Controlled the net and forced Taraz Jambil into several low-percentage attacks.
• Taraz Jambil’s libero: Worked hard in defence and kept several rallies alive with impressive reactions.
• Taraz Jambil’s outside hitters: Showed fighting spirit in the third set but were often met by a well-formed block.

What it means for the National League table

The straight-sets victory strengthens Aktobe’s position in the National League standings and underlines the team’s ability to win on the road without dropping a set. Such results can be important in a league where momentum and consistency often decide the final order.

Taraz Jambil will be disappointed to lose at home, but the third-set effort offers something to build on. The home side needs to improve its reception under pressure and find more ways to score when the block is set. Aktobe, meanwhile, can take confidence from a controlled performance and turn attention to the next round.
