Bordeaux Women claimed an impressive 3-0 away victory over France Avenir 2024 Women in Ligue A Women on 24 October 2026. The visitors controlled the key moments of each set and completed a composed straight-sets win, 25-20, 25-18, 25-22.

Match overview

Bordeaux started strongly, taking the first set 25-20 after building an early advantage through consistent serving and solid block defence. France Avenir 2024 stayed competitive in patches, but Bordeaux’s ability to side-out under pressure gave them the edge.

The second set was more one-sided. Bordeaux tightened their reception, varied their attack and pulled away to win 25-18. France Avenir 2024 responded with a better third set, keeping the score close into the latter stages, but Bordeaux found the necessary composure to close it out 25-22.

How Bordeaux controlled the match

• Serving discipline: Bordeaux kept the ball in play while still generating enough pressure to disrupt France Avenir 2024’s first-ball attack.
• Block-defence connection: The visitors read the opposing attack well and repeatedly turned defensive touches into transition points.
• Closing sets: Bordeaux stayed calm in the tight moments, particularly in the third set when France Avenir 2024 threatened to extend the match.

Tactical story

Bordeaux’s performance was built on balance. Their setter used the middle attack effectively to keep France Avenir 2024’s blockers honest, which in turn created space for the outside hitters. When the home side adjusted, Bordeaux responded with smart tips and angled shots rather than forcing power through a set block.

France Avenir 2024 showed resilience, especially in the third set. Their serving improved and they managed to create a few transition chances, but they struggled to sustain pressure across long stretches. Bordeaux’s defence was often one step ahead, and their passing allowed them to run their preferred attack even in difficult rallies.

Standout performers

Bordeaux’s opposite hitter delivered important points in each set, while their middle blockers made a clear impact at the net. The libero was also influential, covering well behind the block and helping Bordeaux maintain their defensive shape.

France Avenir 2024’s outside hitters fought hard and produced some of their team’s best attacking moments in the third set. The serving performance improved as the match progressed, but the home side could not find enough consistency to seriously threaten the result.

Table impact and what it means

The straight-sets win gives Bordeaux three points on the road and reinforces their competitive credentials in Ligue A Women. Away victories in three sets are particularly valuable because they combine points with a strong set-difference advantage.

For France Avenir 2024, the defeat offers a clear learning opportunity. The team’s third-set response showed character, but matching Bordeaux’s serving and defensive consistency over three sets remains the next step.
