Nusle Women produced the comeback of the round in the 1. liga Women, recovering from 2-1 down to beat Stresovice Women 3-2 in a thrilling five-set contest on 3 October 2026. It was a match of swings, momentum changes and long rallies, and it ended with the visiting side celebrating a result that could shape the early shape of the standings.

Match Overview

Stresovice, playing at home, started the stronger of the two teams and looked in control for much of the first half of the match. But Nusle refused to fold, gradually building their blocking rhythm and their serve-receive consistency until the balance of power shifted completely in the final two sets.

The set scores were 25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 19-25, 13-15 — a set of numbers that captures how close this fixture was. Four of the five sets were decided by margins of five points or fewer, and the decider went all the way to the wire.

Key Moments

• Set one, 23-23: Stresovice won the two biggest rallies of the opening set, taking it with a sharp block and a well-placed serve.
• Set three, 20-18: The home side's middle attack gave them a lead they would not surrender, putting them 2-1 up in the match.
• Set four, 14-10: Nusle broke away early and never allowed Stresovice back into the set, forcing the tie-break.
• Fifth set, 13-13: A stunning defensive dig set up Nusle's match point, which they converted on the next rally.

Tactical Story

Stresovice's game plan was built around a fast middle attack and aggressive serving, and for three sets it worked well. Their setter spread the ball effectively and kept Nusle's block guessing, while their libero covered a huge amount of ground in defence. The problem came when Nusle adjusted: the visiting blockers began reading the quick attack, and the home team's serves started to drift long as the pressure grew.

Nusle's turnaround was rooted in patience. They simplified their attacking patterns, leaned on their outside hitters in high-ball situations, and made Stresovice play long rallies. The fourth set was a masterclass in error reduction — Nusle cut their unforced mistakes dramatically and forced the home side to earn every point. In the tie-break, their composure at 13-13 was the difference.

Standout Players

The Nusle captain led from the front, producing crucial kills in the fourth and fifth sets and keeping her team's energy high when they trailed. The visiting middle blocker grew into the match, recording a series of important blocks late on, while the libero delivered one of the defensive performances of the week.

For Stresovice, the opposite hitter was the most consistent attacking threat across all five sets, and the setter's distribution in the first three sets was excellent. Their challenge will be sustaining that level when the momentum swings against them.

Season Impact

Winning 3-2 on the road is one of the most valuable results in league volleyball. Nusle take maximum points from a difficult away fixture and send an early message that they can compete in tight matches. For Stresovice, the defeat is painful — leading 2-1 at home and losing is a tough way to start — but the point gained for a five-set loss keeps them on the board.

The result also underlines how competitive the 1. liga Women looks this season. With matches routinely going the distance, tie-break experience is likely to be one of the most decisive factors in the final standings.

What's Next

Stresovice will want a quick response in their next home outing, ideally with a cleaner serving performance in the closing stages. Nusle, meanwhile, travel with confidence and a proven ability to win from behind. On this evidence, both teams will be worth watching as the season unfolds.

Final score: Stresovice Women 2-3 Nusle Women (25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 19-25, 13-15).
