Legionovia Women Secure Statement 3-0 Win at Solna Wieliczka

Legionovia Women delivered a composed and assertive road performance in the I. Liga Women on 25 October 2026, defeating Solna Wieliczka Women 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-17). The visitors controlled the key phases of all three sets, using serve pressure and a well-organized block to deny the hosts any sustained momentum.

The result gives Legionovia a valuable three-point haul and reinforces their reputation as one of the more balanced sides in the league. For Solna Wieliczka, the evening offered flashes of resistance but too few answers once Legionovia found their rhythm.

Match Overview

Solna Wieliczka started brightly in front of their home support, trading early points and briefly leading 6-4 through a pair of well-placed attacks from captain Karolina Duda. Legionovia, however, settled quickly. A run of strong serves from Marta Kowalczyk forced Solna into predictable attacking patterns, and the visitors closed the first set with a decisive 7-2 surge.

The second set was the most competitive. Solna improved their reception and stayed level at 18-18, but Legionovia’s block came to the fore late in the set. Two consecutive blocks from Oliwia Nowak and a smart tip from setter Anna Zielińska gave the visitors the cushion they needed. The third set followed a similar pattern: Solna stayed close early before Legionovia pulled away through cleaner transition play and a low error count.

Key Moments

• First set, 14-13 Legionovia: A three-point serving run from Kowalczyk forced a Solna timeout and shifted the momentum.
• Second set, 19-19: Back-to-back blocks from Nowak gave Legionovia the lead for good.
• Third set, 12-8: A long rally ended with a cross-court kill from Aleksandra Biel, sparking a 6-1 run that effectively sealed the match.

Tactical Story

Legionovia’s serving strategy was central to the win. They targeted Solna’s left-side receivers and mixed short serves with deep floaters, disrupting the hosts’ first-tempo attack. That pressure allowed Legionovia’s block to set up more effectively, and the visitors repeatedly turned defensive touches into quick transition points.

Solna Wieliczka, by contrast, struggled to sustain side-out efficiency. When their reception held, Duda and outside hitter Natalia Krawczyk asked questions of the Legionovia defense, but the hosts too often gifted free points through unforced errors. Legionovia’s setter Zielińska managed the game intelligently, spreading the attack between the pins and the middle to keep Solna’s block guessing.

Standout Players

Marta Kowalczyk led Legionovia with 16 points, including three aces, and was the most consistent attacking outlet in the big moments. Oliwia Nowak added 11 points and five blocks, while Anna Zielińska controlled the tempo with 34 assists. For Solna, Karolina Duda finished with 11 points and libero Magdalena Sikora produced several impressive defensive plays, but the hosts lacked the collective consistency to extend the match.

Table and Season Impact

The 3-0 win gives Legionovia three points and strengthens their position in the upper half of the I. Liga Women standings. More importantly, it shows they can manage away fixtures against direct rivals without needing a fifth-set escape. Solna Wieliczka remain a competitive side at home, but this defeat highlights the gap between flashes of quality and the sustained execution required over three sets.

Both teams now turn to their next league assignments. Legionovia will look to build on a performance built on serve, block, and low errors, while Solna must improve their reception and side-out consistency if they are to convert home advantage into points.
