Sedziszow Malopolski Women secured an impressive 3-1 road victory over Imielin Women in I. Liga Women on 24 October 2026, using a strong serving performance and a patient block to take control of a competitive match. The visitors recovered from losing the opening set to win the next three and close out the contest 21-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-18.

Match overview

Imielin Women started the match with energy and took the first set 25-21, capitalising on a strong run of serves and some efficient attacking from the wings. The home side’s block was well organised early on, and Sedziszow Malopolski struggled to find clean kills through the middle. That changed in the second set. Sedziszow adjusted their attacking angles, used the block-out more effectively, and began to win the longer rallies. A 25-20 second-set win levelled the match and shifted the momentum.

The third set was the turning point. Sedziszow Malopolski took an early lead and never allowed Imielin to settle into their preferred rhythm. Their serve targeting made it difficult for the home side to run the middle attack, and the visitors’ defence picked up several crucial balls in transition. A 25-19 win put Sedziszow ahead for the first time. In the fourth set, they maintained that control, breaking away midway through and finishing strongly at 25-18.

Key moments

• First set: Imielin’s serve and block gave them the early edge, and they converted their chances to take the opener 25-21.
• Second set: Sedziszow Malopolski improved their first-ball attack and levelled the match with a 25-20 win.
• Third set: The visitors’ serving run midway through the set created the separation that led to a 25-19 advantage.
• Fourth set: Sedziszow kept their error count low and pulled away late to complete a 25-18 closing set.

Tactical story

The match was decided by Sedziszow Malopolski’s ability to adapt after the first set. Imielin’s early success came from serving with purpose and forcing the visitors into predictable outside attacks. Once Sedziszow stabilised reception, their setter was able to involve the middle more often, which stretched Imielin’s block and created space on the wings. The visitors also improved their block positioning, closing the line on Imielin’s stronger side and forcing several attack errors.

Imielin’s best spells came when their serve was aggressive, but they were unable to sustain that pressure across four sets. As the match wore on, Sedziszow’s defence looked more settled, and their transition game became the difference. The visitors’ ability to win the long rallies in the third and fourth sets gradually took the energy out of the home side.

Standout performers

Sedziszow Malopolski’s outside hitter was the standout attacker, delivering consistently in the second and third sets when the visitors needed a reliable terminal option. Their libero also had a strong match, keeping rallies alive and giving the team chances to counter. For Imielin, the middle blocker impressed early with blocks and quick attacks, while the home setter kept the offence organised during the first-set win.

Standings and season impact

The three points move Sedziszow Malopolski Women into a stronger position in the I. Liga Women standings and underline their ability to win on the road. For Imielin Women, the defeat is a missed opportunity to build momentum at home, though the first-set performance showed that they can compete with the division’s better sides when their serve is firing.

Sedziszow will look to carry the same serving and defensive discipline into their next fixture, while Imielin must find a way to maintain their level after strong starts. In a league where away wins are often hard to come by, this result could prove valuable by the end of the season.
