Key moments

The second set established the rhythm of the match. NVC CVS Women broke away midway through the set with a run of strong serves and well-organised block defence, creating a gap that Ostrava could not close. Ostrava’s best spell came early in the third set, when aggressive serving forced the home team into several difficult receptions. Yet NVC CVS Women regrouped quickly and controlled the decisive points of the fourth set.

Tactical story

NVC CVS Women’s block-defence system worked well for long stretches. The home side kept Ostrava’s outside hitters in front of them and used patient transition play to turn defensive touches into scoring opportunities. Ostrava were at their most dangerous when they served aggressively and shortened the rallies, but they could not sustain that pressure. NVC CVS also varied their attacking tempo effectively, mixing quick middle attacks with higher balls to the pins.

Standout performers

The NVC CVS Women outside hitter was a consistent outlet, scoring both in system and out of system. Their setter managed the offence well, especially in the fourth set when the team needed calm distribution. Ostrava’s libero produced several strong defensive plays and kept the visitors alive in the third set, while their opposite hitter carried much of the scoring load.

Table impact

The win strengthens NVC CVS Women’s position in the Extraliga Women standings and adds another important home victory to their season record. Ostrava Women leave with a useful third-set performance but will be disappointed not to have forced a decider. The result underlines the value of serving consistency and transition efficiency in the league’s competitive middle pack.
