TJ Sokol Šternberk Women produced a composed away performance in the Extraliga Women on 25 October 2026, defeating Lvi Prague Women 3-0 with set scores of 25-22, 25-19 and 25-21. Šternberk were sharper in the closing points of each set, combining aggressive serving with a block that consistently disrupted Lvi Prague’s attacking rhythm.

Match overview

The first set was the most competitive of the afternoon. Lvi Prague stayed close through the middle phase and had chances to take control, but Šternberk’s serving improved at exactly the right moment. The visitors edged the opener 25-22, then used that momentum to build a clearer advantage in the second set. Lvi Prague fought back in the third and kept the score tight early, but Šternberk’s block and transition play proved too steady down the stretch.

• Set 1: Šternberk 25-22
• Set 2: Šternberk 25-19
• Set 3: Šternberk 25-21

Key moments

At 22-22 in the first set, the match was finely balanced. Šternberk won the next two points through a strong serve and a well-read block, then closed the set on a Lvi Prague attacking error. That sequence gave the visitors belief. In the second set, a five-point run turned a narrow lead into a comfortable cushion, and although Lvi Prague improved in the third, Šternberk’s late-sideout efficiency kept the hosts at arm’s length.

Tactical story

Šternberk’s serve-receive held up under pressure, allowing their setter to use the middle and keep Lvi Prague’s block moving. The visitors also defended the floor well, extending rallies and forcing the home side into extra swings. Lvi Prague had success when they served aggressively and attacked through the pins, but they could not sustain that formula across three sets. Šternberk’s block adjusted well after the first set, closing down the line and forcing Lvi Prague into more predictable cross-court attacks.

Standout performers

Šternberk’s opposite Veronika Králová led all scorers with 19 points, delivering several important kills in the first and third sets. Middle blocker Eliška Bartošová added five blocks and controlled the net, while setter Lucie Horáková kept a balanced attack and made good decisions in transition. For Lvi Prague, Kateřina Novotná top-scored with 14 points, but the hosts needed more support around her in the decisive moments.

Season impact

The 3-0 away win gives Šternberk three valuable points in the Extraliga Women standings and underlines their ability to close out tight sets on the road. Lvi Prague will be frustrated by the first set in particular, having stayed level until the final points. The result leaves the hosts looking for greater consistency in serve-receive, while Šternberk can take confidence from a disciplined, all-round team performance.
