Set-by-set story

• Second set – SZBBRA 25-21: The visitors raised their serving intensity and reduced their error count. They broke away in the middle of the set and held their advantage.
• Third set – SZBBRA 25-20: SZBBRA’s block began to dominate, and Corecomm struggled to find clean attacks. The visitors’ transition game was sharper.
• Fourth set – SZBBRA 25-19: SZBBRA maintained their momentum and finished the match strongly, giving Corecomm little chance to force a fifth set.

Tactical story

The turning point came after the first set. SZBBRA increased their service pressure and forced Corecomm into more predictable attacking patterns. With their block well positioned, the visitors were able to neutralise Corecomm’s main hitters and win points through defence-to-attack transitions. Corecomm’s first-set win was built on resilience and a few key blocks, but they could not match SZBBRA’s consistency over the longer stretch.

Standout performers

SZBBRA’s outside hitter was a consistent outlet, scoring from both the front and back rows. Their libero also played a key role, stabilising reception and keeping rallies alive. For Corecomm, the first set showed their fighting spirit, but the hosts needed more support for their main scorers and greater accuracy from the service line.

Season impact

The away win is a significant result for SZBBRA Women in the Extraliga Women standings, demonstrating their ability to respond after losing a tight opening set. For Corecomm W, the defeat is a frustrating one after a promising start, but the performance provided evidence of their competitiveness. Both teams will now prepare for their next fixtures, with SZBBRA looking to build on their momentum and Corecomm aiming to rediscover their first-set form.
