The visitors won 25-17, 25-20 and 25-22, combining patient build-up with sharp attacking play at the key moments. It was a result that underlined Calcit Kamnik Women’s quality in the Slovenian women’s top flight and left Formula Formis Women searching for answers after a difficult evening.

Match overview

Calcit Kamnik Women began the match with a clear game plan: serve with enough risk to pull Formula Formis out of system, then use their block to close the angles. The approach worked almost immediately. The first set was taken with room to spare, as the visitors raced into an early lead and never looked back. Formula Formis struggled to find clean first-ball side-outs, and Calcit Kamnik’s transition offence was ruthless whenever the ball came back over the net.

The second set was more competitive for longer, with Formula Formis finding some traction through their opposite hitter and a few well-placed serves. However, Calcit Kamnik Women absorbed the pressure and pulled away in the closing stages. The third set was the tightest of the contest, but the visitors’ composure in the final points proved decisive, allowing them to complete the sweep without dropping a set.

Key moments

• Early control: Calcit Kamnik Women opened a 12-6 lead in the first set, forcing Formula Formis into an early timeout.
• Second-set response: After Formula Formis briefly levelled at 18-18, Calcit Kamnik won four of the next five points to regain command.
• Third-set finish: A block and a back-row attack sealed the match at 25-22, ending any hopes of a home comeback.

Tactical story

Calcit Kamnik Women’s serving strategy was central to the win. They mixed float serves with aggressive jump serves, making it difficult for Formula Formis to establish a consistent reception pattern. That disruption allowed the visitors’ block to stay disciplined, especially against the home side’s preferred outside attack. Calcit Kamnik also defended the floor well, keeping rallies alive and forcing Formula Formis to take extra swings.

In attack, Calcit Kamnik Women showed impressive balance. Their setter distributed the ball across the front line, keeping the middle attack relevant and creating space for the wings. Formula Formis had their best spell in the third set, when their serve improved and they managed to put pressure on the Calcit Kamnik reception. But the visitors’ experience showed in the decisive moments, and they closed the match with calmness rather than panic.

Standout performers

Outside hitter Nina Kovačič was a reliable attacking outlet for Calcit Kamnik Women, scoring consistently in both system and transition. Setter Eva Potočnik controlled the tempo well and made good decisions under pressure, while middle blocker Tjaša Jenko contributed important blocks and quick points. For Formula Formis Women, Maja Ristić fought hard as the main offensive option, but the home side could not generate enough support around her.

League impact

The three points strengthen Calcit Kamnik Women’s position in the 1. DOL Women standings and give them momentum for the next round. A road sweep is always valuable, especially against a team capable of making life difficult at home. Formula Formis Women will need to review their reception and side-out efficiency, as those areas prevented them from building sustained pressure. For Calcit Kamnik, the win is another sign that their balance between serve, block and transition can carry them through difficult away fixtures.
