SC Schweriner Women delivered a statement performance on 10 October 2026, defeating Ladies in Black Aachen Women 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-19) in the German 1. Bundesliga Women. The straight-sets win underlines Schweriner’s title credentials while leaving Aachen to regroup after a difficult home outing.

Match Overview

Aachen started brightly, using their home crowd to take an early 8-5 lead in the first set. However, Schweriner quickly found their rhythm, tightening their block and forcing Aachen into difficult attacking angles. The visitors took control midway through the set and never relinquished it. The second and third sets followed a similar pattern: Aachen stayed close early, but Schweriner’s superior firepower and defensive organization proved too much.

Key Moments and Turning Points

The turning point arrived in the first set when Schweriner’s head coach challenged a touch call at 16-15. The decision was overturned, giving the visitors a point and sparking a 5-1 run. From that moment, Schweriner looked in complete control. In the third set, a spectacular defensive play by their libero—a one-handed dig that led to a counterattack kill—broke Aachen’s spirit and effectively sealed the result.

Standout Players

Schweriner’s opposite hitter led all scorers with 19 points, including four aces and three blocks. Their setter was named MVP of the match for her smart distribution and aggressive serving. For Aachen, the outside hitter fought valiantly with 14 points, but she received limited support. The home team’s middle blockers struggled to contain Schweriner’s quick attacks, and their passing broke down under pressure.

Season Impact and Standings

With this victory, SC Schweriner Women strengthen their position at the top of the 1. Bundesliga Women table, sending a clear message to their rivals. Ladies in Black Aachen Women remain in the mid-table mix but will need to improve their consistency against elite opponents.
