Ladies in Black Aachen Women secured a dominant 3-0 home victory over Flacht Women in the 1. Bundesliga Women, winning 25-17, 25-19, 25-21. Aachen controlled the match from the opening set, using aggressive serving and a solid block to keep Flacht under constant pressure. The hosts never allowed their opponents to settle into a comfortable attacking rhythm.

Match overview

Aachen started strongly and quickly established an 8-3 lead in the first set. Flacht improved in the second and stayed close until the middle of the set, but Aachen pulled away with a decisive run. The third set was the most competitive, with Flacht briefly leading, but Aachen’s experience and depth told in the closing points.

Key moments

The first set set the tone, as Aachen’s serve created immediate problems for Flacht’s reception. In the second, Flacht tied the score at 12-12, only for Aachen to respond with a 7-1 run that broke the set open. Flacht led 15-13 in the third and had a chance to extend the match, but Aachen won six of the next eight points and closed it out 25-21.

Tactical story

Aachen’s serving was the standout feature of the night. They targeted Flacht’s outside hitters and forced high, predictable sets, which allowed the home block to set up early. Aachen also dominated the transition game, turning defensive plays into quick points. Flacht fought hard in the third set but lacked the passing consistency to sustain pressure over a full set.

Standout performers

Aachen outside hitter Laura Becker led the scoring with 15 points and was effective from both the front and back row. Middle blocker Nina Wolf added six blocks and gave the hosts a strong presence at the net. Flacht’s Julia Kaiser top-scored for the visitors with 10 points, but she received limited support in attack.

Season impact

The straight-sets win strengthens Ladies in Black Aachen Women’s position in the 1. Bundesliga Women standings and reinforces their home-court form. Flacht Women will take some encouragement from their third-set fight, but they will need better reception and more balanced scoring to compete with the league’s stronger sides.
