FC Kattaqorgon edged Yaypan FK 1-0 in the Uzbekistan Pro League on Saturday, 24 October 2026, securing an important away victory through a patient and well-organised performance.

Match overview

The contest was closely fought, with both sides prioritising defensive shape early on. Yaypan FK worked hard to press in midfield and disrupt Kattaqorgon’s rhythm, but the visitors gradually settled and began to find space in the wide areas. The only goal of the game arrived in the second half and proved enough to separate two teams that cancelled each other out for long stretches.

Key moments

• Yaypan FK’s best early chance came from a set piece, but the header was comfortably saved.
• Kattaqorgon grew into the game and forced a series of corners before the interval.
• The breakthrough came after the hour mark, when a quick transition ended with a composed finish from inside the box.
• Yaypan pushed players forward late on, but Kattaqorgon’s defence held firm and protected the lead.

Tactical story

Kattaqorgon’s victory was built on control without the ball. They stayed compact, forced Yaypan into sideways passing, and then attacked quickly when possession was regained. Yaypan FK had spells of encouragement but struggled to create sustained pressure in the final third, often finding the visitors’ midfield screen difficult to bypass.

Standout performers

The Kattaqorgon goalkeeper handled crosses well and made one crucial late save, while the midfield unit worked tirelessly to close gaps. Yaypan’s most impressive performer was their captain, who tried to drive the team forward and remained involved until the final whistle.

Season impact

The win gives FC Kattaqorgon valuable momentum in the Uzbekistan Pro League and highlights their ability to grind out results on the road. For Yaypan FK, the narrow defeat is a frustrating one, but the margin suggests they remain competitive in the tight battles that will define their campaign.
