Tactical story

Şanlıurfaspor’s pressing game forced Hatayspor into mistakes in midfield, and their set-piece delivery was a constant threat. The visitors looked dangerous on the break but struggled to defend crosses and second balls. Once Şanlıurfaspor took the lead, they managed the game well, slowing the tempo when needed and striking again when space appeared.

Standout performers

Emre Yıldırım was the standout for Şanlıurfaspor, scoring twice and leading the press from the front. His movement pulled Hatayspor’s centre-backs out of position and created room for midfield runners. For Atakas Hatayspor, Cemal Aydın was lively and involved in both goals, but the visitors could not maintain their intensity across 90 minutes.

What it means

Şanlıurfaspor move forward with renewed confidence in the Turkish Second League standings, keeping pace with the promotion contenders. Atakas Hatayspor leave with another reminder that their attacking threat is not being matched by defensive solidity. In a division where home form is often decisive, this was exactly the kind of performance Şanlıurfaspor needed.
