History and Development

Founded in the mid-20th century, AD San Rafael grew from a neighborhood team into a recognized regional club. The club’s history is built on promotion battles, cup upsets, and a steady stream of players who have moved on to higher levels of Spanish football. Its academy remains the backbone of the project, giving young players from San Rafael and nearby towns a clear pathway to senior football.

Playing Style and Squad

The team typically lines up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, favoring patient possession and quick switches of play. The full-backs are encouraged to overlap, while the defensive midfielders protect the back line and recycle possession. Rivalries and Matchday Culture

Local derbies against Gimnástica Segoviana and other provincial rivals are the highlights of the calendar. These matches draw the biggest crowds and often produce tense, physical football. Season Ambitions

For AD San Rafael, the target is to stay in the promotion conversation and secure a top-half finish at minimum. The club wants to remain difficult to beat at home and improve its away form.
