FC Solothurn claimed a solid 3-1 away win over FC Courtetelle in the Swiss Division 2 League on 26 September 2026, using a strong second-half performance to pull clear of their hosts.

The match was level at halftime, but FC Solothurn’s sharper finishing and better control after the break made the difference.

Match Overview

FC Courtetelle started brightly and matched FC Solothurn for much of the first half. The hosts pressed well and were rewarded with an equalising goal just before the interval, cancelling out FC Solothurn’s early opener. At that point, the game looked finely balanced.

The second half, however, belonged to FC Solothurn. They raised their tempo, moved the ball more quickly through midfield, and created a series of chances. Two further goals sealed the victory, leaving FC Courtetelle to reflect on a home defeat in which they competed but lacked the final edge.

• 77' – A third goal gave the visitors breathing room and took the game away from Courtetelle.

Tactical Story

FC Solothurn used a patient build-up in the first half before becoming more direct after halftime. Their midfielders found space between the lines and repeatedly fed the wide players, who delivered dangerous crosses. Defensively, they stepped up their pressing and prevented FC Courtetelle from sustaining possession.

FC Courtetelle’s shape was organised early on, but as the game wore on, they struggled to track runners from midfield. Their equaliser showed what they are capable of, yet they could not reproduce that quality consistently in the second half.

Standout Players

FC Solothurn’s forward was influential throughout, scoring twice and linking play effectively. The midfield playmaker controlled the tempo, while the full-backs supported the attack with energy. For FC Courtetelle, the goalscorer and goalkeeper were the standout performers, with the latter making several saves to keep the score respectable.

Season Impact

FC Solothurn move forward with confidence after an efficient away display, while FC Courtetelle remain in search of greater consistency at home. In the Swiss Division 2 League, away wins like this are valuable, and FC Solothurn will hope it becomes a platform for a strong run in the coming weeks.
