Celta Vigo B produced one of their most convincing displays of the season, sweeping aside Real Sociedad B 4-1 in an entertaining reserve-team fixture. The Galician outfit were sharper in every department, converting their dominance into goals and handing their Basque opponents a heavy defeat.

Match Overview

The game was played at a high tempo from the outset, with both sides fielding young, energetic line-ups eager to impress and push for senior-team consideration. Celta Vigo B looked the more cohesive unit, moving the ball with purpose and attacking in numbers whenever possession was won in midfield.

Real Sociedad B tried to play out from the back as is their custom, but they were repeatedly harried into mistakes in their own third — a pattern that set the tone for the afternoon.

Key Moments

• Early pressure: Celta Vigo B started on the front foot, pressing high and forcing errors near the Sociedad penalty area.
• Opening goal: The breakthrough came from a quick combination on the edge of the box, finished with composure.
• Doubling the lead: A second arrived soon after, giving the home side genuine control of the contest.
• Sociedad lifeline: The visitors pulled one back to briefly suggest a comeback was on.
• Killing the game: Celta restored their cushion with a well-taken third before adding a fourth to complete the rout.

Tactical Story

The decisive factor was Celta Vigo B's pressing structure. By aggressively closing down Sociedad's centre-backs and pivot, they prevented the visitors from establishing the passing rhythm that makes their possession game effective. Every misplaced pass in a dangerous area became an attacking opportunity, and Celta's forward line was ruthless in exploiting them.

Sociedad B's consolation goal came from a rare moment of clean build-up play, showing what they are capable of when they escape the press. But defensively, the gaps between their midfield and back line were too large all afternoon, and Celta repeatedly drove into those spaces.

Standout Performers

Celta's attacking players shared the plaudits, with the forward line combining intelligently and finishing clinically. The midfield controller dictated the pace of the game throughout, while Sociedad's goalkeeper was left exposed far too often behind a defence that struggled to cope with the intensity of the opposition press.

Season Impact

A four-goal performance of this quality is a major statement for Celta Vigo B, boosting both their points tally and their goal difference in what is always a tightly contested reserve-team division. For Real Sociedad B, the defeat is a reminder of how punishing this level can be when defensive concentration slips, and it will require a swift response in their next outing.
