FK Javor Ivanjica secured a 2-1 away victory over Metalac Gornji Milanovac in the Serbian Mozzart Bet Prva Liga on 24 October 2026, producing a patient and clinical second-half performance to take all three points. Metalac Gornji Milanovac had their moments in front of their home supporters, but Javor’s response after falling behind proved decisive.

Match overview

The contest began with both sides looking to establish control in midfield. Metalac Gornji Milanovac started brightly and used the width of the pitch well, while Javor Ivanjica sat slightly deeper and looked to strike on the counter. The home side’s early pressure eventually paid off when they opened the scoring from a well-worked set piece.

Rather than retreating after conceding, Javor grew into the game. They began to press higher, forcing Metalac into hurried passes and creating turnovers in dangerous areas. That shift in momentum laid the foundation for the comeback.

Key moments

Metalac took the lead after a dangerous delivery into the box was met with a solid finish, sending the home crowd into voice. The advantage lasted until shortly before half-time, when Javor equalized with a move that started from a midfield recovery and ended with a low strike into the corner.

The winning goal arrived in the second half, and it was Javor who looked the more likely side to find it. A quick transition caught Metalac’s back line out of shape, and the away side’s forward kept his composure to finish past the goalkeeper. Metalac pushed for a response, but Javor defended their box well in the closing stages.

Tactical story

Javor Ivanjica’s success came from their aggressive pressing after the interval. They closed down Metalac’s midfielders quickly and forced the home side to play longer passes than they would have liked. With the ball, Javor were direct and purposeful, often attacking the space behind the full-backs.

Metalac Gornji Milanovac looked dangerous from wide areas and set pieces, but they struggled to sustain pressure once Javor adjusted their defensive line. The home side’s midfield was often stretched in transition, which gave Javor the openings they needed to complete the turnaround.

Standout performers

Javor’s centre-forward was central to the result, not only for the winning goal but also for the way he held up play and brought teammates into the attack. The away side’s midfield also impressed with their energy, winning second balls and setting the tempo for the comeback.

For Metalac, the goalkeeper made several important stops to keep the score level for long periods, while the captain in midfield tried to drive the team forward. Ultimately, though, the home side lacked the same cutting edge in the final third.

Season impact

The 2-1 win is a significant result for FK Javor Ivanjica in the Serbian Mozzart Bet Prva Liga, strengthening their position in the race for promotion and showing that they can win away from home against direct rivals. For Metalac Gornji Milanovac, the defeat is a missed opportunity to build momentum on home soil.

The result also highlights the fine margins in the Prva Liga. Javor’s ability to respond after conceding could be an important trait as the season progresses, while Metalac will need to find greater consistency in both boxes.
