WFC Zvezda-2005 Perm Women claimed a hard-fought 1-0 away victory over Yenisey Krasnoyarsk Women in the Russian Women’s Premier League on Sunday, October 18, 2026. A single second-half goal settled a tight contest in Krasnoyarsk, giving the visitors three valuable points and leaving the hosts frustrated after a game in which they enjoyed long spells of possession without finding the finishing touch.

Match overview

The match was played in cool, autumnal conditions and began at a cautious tempo, with both teams prioritising defensive shape. Yenisey Krasnoyarsk looked the more proactive side in the opening half, moving the ball patiently through midfield and trying to stretch Zvezda-2005 Perm with switches of play. However, the home side struggled to turn territory into clear chances, and the visitors’ compact defensive block held firm.

Zvezda-2005 Perm grew into the contest after the interval. Their midfield began to press higher, forcing turnovers in useful areas, and the breakthrough arrived in the 63rd minute. A quick move down the right ended with a low cross into the penalty area, and the visiting attacker finished calmly from close range to make it 1-0.

Yenisey pushed forward in search of an equaliser and produced their best spell of pressure in the final 20 minutes, but Zvezda-2005 defended with discipline and managed the closing stages well. The hosts sent extra bodies forward and won several set pieces, yet the visitors’ goalkeeper and centre-backs dealt with the danger to preserve a valuable clean sheet.

Key moments

• 15th minute: Yenisey created the first meaningful opening, but the forward’s shot from the edge of the box drifted wide of the far post.
• 38th minute: Zvezda-2005 won a free-kick in a promising position, though the delivery was comfortably cleared.
• 63rd minute: The decisive moment — a flowing move down the right produced a low cross and a close-range finish to put the visitors 1-0 ahead.
• 76th minute: Yenisey made attacking changes and shifted more players into the final third, looking to force an equaliser.
• 88th minute: The hosts’ best late chance was kept out by a strong save from the Zvezda-2005 goalkeeper.

Tactical story

Zvezda-2005 Perm set up to stay compact and deny Yenisey space between the lines. Their midfield protected the back four well, and when they won possession they looked to transition quickly rather than overcomplicate the buildup. That approach paid off with the winning goal, which came from exactly the kind of direct, wide attacking move the visitors had been trying to create all afternoon.

Yenisey, by contrast, had more of the ball but lacked penetration. Their wide players saw plenty of possession, yet crosses were often cut out and shots from distance were blocked. The home side’s best moments came from set pieces and second balls, but they could not find the composure needed in the final third.

Standout performers

The Zvezda-2005 goalkeeper was central to the result, making a crucial late save and commanding her area well under pressure. The goalscorer deserved credit for a composed finish, while the visiting midfield worked tirelessly to close down space and disrupt Yenisey’s rhythm. For the hosts, the central midfielder who dictated much of their possession was a bright spot, but her efforts were not rewarded with a goal.

What the result means

The three points strengthen Zvezda-2005 Perm’s position in the Russian Women’s Premier League table and give them momentum in the middle section of the campaign. For Yenisey Krasnoyarsk, the defeat is a reminder that possession alone is not enough in a competitive league; converting territory into clear chances will be the priority in their next fixtures.

With the Russian Women’s Premier League season continuing, both sides will take different lessons from this match. Zvezda-2005 can point to resilience, organisation and a well-taken winning goal, while Yenisey must find a sharper edge in attack if they are to turn promising performances into points.
