Tactical Story

Vukovar’s direct approach caused problems in the first half, especially with early crosses and second balls around the penalty spot. Jadran’s midfield struggled initially to cope with the physicality, but they adjusted by dropping their defensive line deeper and using quick counter-attacks.

Jadran’s wide players were key after the break, stretching Vukovar’s defence and creating space for late runners. The winning goal was a perfect example: a patient build-up, a low cross, and a midfielder arriving unmarked at the back post.

Standout Players

Petar Jurić was Jadran’s match-winner, but Marko Šimić and Ante Vuković also played crucial roles in the comeback. Jadran’s goalkeeper made two important saves in the final ten minutes to protect the lead.

For Vukovar, Josip Marić and Ivan Babić were the main threats, and their link-up play caused Jadran problems throughout. The home side will rue missed chances at 2-1, when a third goal might have put the game beyond reach.
