Rosenborg claimed a statement 3-1 away victory over Kristiansund BK at the Nordmøre stadion on Matchday 22 of the 2026 Eliteserien season, strengthening their push for European qualification while deepening the hosts' relegation concerns. The visitors produced a clinical second-half display to turn a tight contest into a comfortable win, with three different goalscorers finding the net.

Match Overview

Played under the floodlights on a cool September evening, the match pitted Rosenborg's title-chasing ambitions against a Kristiansund side desperate for points to climb out of the bottom half. The away team started brightly, dominating possession and creating the first clear chance inside five minutes when midfielder Markus Henriksen forced a smart save from the Kristiansund goalkeeper. The hosts, however, grew into the game and briefly threatened on the counter.

Key Moments

• 12' – Rosenborg take the lead: A swift passing move down the right ended with winger Carlo Holse curling a low shot into the far corner.
• 34' – Kristiansund equalise: Against the run of play, the home side won a corner and centre-back Aliou Coly rose highest to head home from six yards.
• 58' – Rosenborg restore their advantage: Striker Ole Sæter latched onto a through ball and calmly slotted past the onrushing keeper.
• 82' – The killer blow: Substitute Emil Konradsen sealed the points with a powerful drive from the edge of the box after a neat lay-off from Sæter.

Tactical Story

Rosenborg employed a high-pressing 4-3-3 that suffocated Kristiansund's attempts to play out from the back. The hosts often resorted to long balls, which were easily dealt with by the visitors' dominant centre-back pairing. After the interval, Rosenborg shifted to a more controlled approach, allowing Kristiansund possession in harmless areas before hitting them on the break. The home team's midfield struggled to track the late runs of Rosenborg's advanced playmakers, leading to the second and third goals.

Standout Players

Ole Sæter was the architect of Rosenborg's victory, scoring one and assisting another with a tireless display. Carlo Holse's direct running caused problems all evening, while goalkeeper André Hansen made two crucial saves to preserve the lead. For Kristiansund, captain Dan Peter Ulvestad fought hard in midfield, but the defence crumbled under sustained pressure.

Eliteserien Table Impact

The win lifts Rosenborg to third place in the Eliteserien standings, four points behind leaders Bodø/Glimt with eight matches remaining. Kristiansund remain 14th, just two points above the relegation play-off spot. With head-to-head records now favouring Rosenborg, the Trondheim giants look well placed for a strong finish. Kristiansund's next fixture against bottom club Sandefjord becomes a must-win.
