Koprivnica 0-2 NK Uskok: Clinical Visitors Take International Friendly Honours

NK Uskok defeated Koprivnica 2-0 in an international friendly on September 24, 2026, using a pair of well-taken goals to secure a composed away victory. The match served as a useful preparation fixture for both sides, but it was Uskok who showed the sharper edge in the final third. Koprivnica enjoyed more of the ball for long spells, yet they were undone by two moments of quality and a disciplined defensive display from the visitors.

Match Overview

Koprivnica began the game with intent, moving the ball quickly through midfield and looking to stretch NK Uskok with wide overlaps. However, the visitors were content to sit in a compact 4-4-2 shape, absorb pressure, and attack through quick transitions. That approach paid off in the 22nd minute and was repeated in the 71st minute when the game was effectively settled.

Koprivnica finished with 54 percent possession and 12 shots, but only three of those were on target. NK Uskok managed 10 shots and put six on target, a clear indication of their superior efficiency in front of goal.

Key Moments

• 22nd minute: NK Uskok took the lead when Ivan Perić rose highest to meet a corner and headed the ball firmly into the bottom corner.
• 39th minute: Koprivnica created their best chance of the first half, but a goal-bound effort was cleared off the line by a retreating defender.
• 58th minute: Uskok goalkeeper Marko Babić produced a double save to deny Koprivnica an equaliser.
• 71st minute: Marko Jurić doubled the lead, finishing a fast counter-attack with a low strike across the goalkeeper.
• 85th minute: Koprivnica won a late free kick in a dangerous position, but the effort was tipped over the bar.

Tactical Story

Koprivnica lined up in a 4-2-3-1 and tried to control the game through central midfield rotations. Their build-up was patient, but too often the final pass was delayed, allowing NK Uskok to recover into shape. Uskok’s 4-4-2 defensive block was narrow and well-drilled, forcing Koprivnica into wide crosses that were comfortably dealt with.

Going forward, NK Uskok were direct and purposeful. Their first goal came from a set piece, while the second highlighted their counter-attacking threat. As the friendly progressed, Koprivnica made several substitutions to increase tempo, but Uskok maintained their concentration and managed the closing stages professionally.

Standout Players

Ivan Perić opened the scoring with a towering header and was a constant aerial threat from set pieces. Marko Jurić added the second goal and led the line with intelligent movement, while goalkeeper Marko Babić made key saves to keep a clean sheet. For Koprivnica, midfielder Luka Novak was the most persistent creator, and defender Josip Radić defended well in one-on-one situations despite the defeat.

Season Impact

As an international friendly, the result does not affect league standings, but it provides valuable information for both coaching teams. NK Uskok will be pleased with their defensive organisation and clinical finishing, while Koprivnica will focus on improving their final-third decision-making. With more competitive fixtures ahead, both sides will use this match as a benchmark for fitness, tactics, and squad depth.
