Tactical story

Panthrakikos played with a direct style, looking to get the ball into the box early and support their forwards with runners from midfield. That approach brought them two goals and made them a constant threat from wide areas. However, it also left them vulnerable to Asteras Tripolis B’s quick transitions and patient possession in midfield.

Asteras B grew into the game after a difficult opening period. Their midfielders began to find pockets of space between Panthrakikos’s lines, and their equalisers came from patient build-up rather than long balls. The visitors’ substitutions also added fresh energy in the final half-hour, helping them secure a point.

Standout players

Papadopoulos led the line well for Panthrakikos and took his goal confidently, while Theodoridis’s header underlined his threat from set pieces. For Asteras Tripolis B, Kotsaris was influential in midfield and capped his performance with a goal, while Doumbia’s late equaliser showed composure under pressure.

Season impact

The point keeps both teams moving in the Greek Super League 2, though neither will be completely satisfied with a draw. Panthrakikos will feel they did enough to win, while Asteras Tripolis B will take confidence from twice fighting back. In a league where consistency is crucial, the result adds another important chapter to both clubs’ campaigns.
