Balagne Cruise to 3-0 Victory at Saint Amand FC

Balagne delivered a commanding away performance to beat Saint Amand FC 3-0 in the French Championnat National 2 on October 4, 2026. A brace from Pierre-Louis Santini and a late third goal from Jean-Baptiste Casanova sealed a comfortable win for the visitors.

Match Overview

Balagne were ruthless from the start, pressing high and forcing Saint Amand FC into a series of early mistakes. The opening goal arrived inside the first quarter of an hour, and from that point Balagne controlled the tempo of the match. Saint Amand struggled to build any sustained pressure, and the visitors added two more goals after the break to complete a dominant display.

Key Moments

• 12th minute: Pierre-Louis Santini opened the scoring with a powerful header from a right-wing cross.
• 49th minute: Santini doubled his tally, finishing neatly after a swift counter-attack.
• 67th minute: Saint Amand were reduced to ten men after a second yellow card, making the comeback task even harder.
• 84th minute: Jean-Baptiste Casanova completed the scoring with a composed finish inside the penalty area.

Tactical Story

Balagne’s high press was the foundation of their victory. They won the ball back quickly in midfield and attacked with purpose, often catching Saint Amand out of shape. The front three rotated constantly, making it difficult for the home defence to mark effectively. Santini’s movement in the box was particularly troublesome, and his two goals reflected his intelligent positioning.

Saint Amand FC tried to play out from the back, but Balagne’s aggressive pressing forced a number of turnovers in dangerous areas. Once the home side went down to ten men, the spaces became even larger, and Balagne capitalised with a third goal. It was a professional, disciplined away performance.

Standout Players

Pierre-Louis Santini was the star of the show, scoring twice and leading the line with energy and intelligence. Jean-Baptiste Casanova added a well-taken goal and was a constant creative threat. In midfield, Marc-Antoine Orsini controlled the game with precise passing and strong tackling. For Saint Amand, goalkeeper Paul Lefèvre made several saves to keep the score from becoming even more one-sided, while captain Julien Barbier never stopped working despite the difficult afternoon.

Season Impact

Balagne’s emphatic win sends a clear message to the rest of the Championnat National 2. They have the quality to dominate matches and the tactical discipline to protect leads. Saint Amand FC, on the other hand, will need to regroup quickly. The defeat leaves them with work to do, and their upcoming fixtures will be crucial in building confidence and tightening up at the back.
