Tactical Story

Neuilly sur Marne defended in a deep 4-4-2 block and looked to spring counter-attacks through their quick wide players. As Charleville pushed more men forward in search of a winner, Neuilly found more space in behind, and that ultimately proved the difference. The away side’s substitutions also added fresh energy in the final twenty minutes.

Standout Players

Neuilly sur Marne’s right winger was a constant threat, scoring the equaliser and causing problems with his direct running. Their goalkeeper made two crucial saves, including the one-on-one stop in the first half. For Charleville, the centre-forward held the ball up well and scored the opening goal, but he lacked support at key moments. The home side’s captain drove his team forward, yet the defeat will sting.

Table Impact

The win gives SFC Neuilly sur Marne a valuable boost in the Championnat National 2 standings, moving them closer to the promotion-chasing pack. Olympique Charleville Prix AM remain in the mid-table area, but they will view this as a missed opportunity to climb higher. With both teams showing defensive vulnerabilities, their upcoming fixtures could prove equally eventful.
