1. FC Slovácko slipped to a 1-2 home defeat against FC Zbrojovka Brno in the Czech Chance Liga on 18 October 2026, as the visitors produced a composed second-half comeback at the Městský fotbalový stadion Miroslava Valenty.

Slovácko had the better of the opening half and took a deserved lead, but Brno stayed in the contest, improved after the break and turned the match around with two well-taken goals. The result gives Zbrojovka a valuable away win and leaves Slovácko frustrated at home.

Match overview

Slovácko started with purpose and dictated the tempo early on. Captain Marek Havlík found pockets of space between Brno’s midfield and defence, and the home side’s wide players stretched the visiting back line. The breakthrough arrived in the 24th minute when Havlík delivered a precise cross from the left and Ondřej Mihálik finished confidently at the near post.

Brno responded without panicking. Jakub Řezníček became a focal point up front, holding the ball up and bringing runners into play. The visitors’ equaliser came in the 57th minute from a corner, with Řezníček rising highest to head home and silence the home crowd.

The game opened up after that. Slovácko pushed for a second goal, but Brno looked increasingly dangerous on the counter-attack. The decisive moment arrived in the 84th minute when Adam Fousek latched onto a quick transition, drove into the box and placed a low shot beyond the goalkeeper.

Key moments

• 24’ — Slovácko 1-0: Marek Havlík’s cross is converted by Ondřej Mihálik at the near post.
• 41’ — Brno warning: Jakub Řezníček forces a save from a tight angle as Brno begin to grow into the game.
• 57’ — Brno equalise: Řezníček heads in from a corner to make it 1-1.
• 72’ — Slovácko pressure: A goalmouth scramble ends with a blocked shot and a corner, but the home side cannot convert.
• 84’ — Brno winner: Adam Fousek finishes a fast break with a low strike to make it 1-2.
• 90+3’ — Late save: Brno’s goalkeeper stands firm to deny Slovácko a stoppage-time equaliser.

Tactical story

Slovácko’s approach was built on possession and patient buildup, with Havlík and Vlastimil Daníček trying to control the middle. The home side created enough chances to take more from the game, but their final ball lacked consistency once Brno dropped deeper.

Brno’s game plan was clear: stay compact, absorb pressure and strike in transition. It worked especially well after the equaliser. The visitors defended their box better in the second half and used Řezníček’s physical presence to relieve pressure before Fousek’s late winner.

Standout players

Havlík was Slovácko’s most creative outlet and provided the assist for the opening goal. Mihálik took his chance well, while Daníček worked hard to keep the midfield organised. For Brno, Řezníček was central to almost everything positive, and Fousek’s decisive contribution off the bench proved the difference.

What it means

Zbrojovka Brno will take confidence from winning away against a side with European ambitions. For Slovácko, the defeat is a reminder that home dominance must be converted into points. The Chance Liga table remains tight, and both clubs will know that consistency in these types of matches will shape their season.
