AC Sparta Praha delivered one of their most emphatic performances of the Czech Chance Liga season on Sunday evening, dismantling 1. FC Slovácko 5-1 at the epet ARENA. The home side were relentless from the first whistle, turning a potentially awkward fixture into a convincing statement of attacking intent and title ambition.

A ruthless first-half foundation

Sparta set the tone inside the opening quarter of an hour. Veljko Birmančević opened the scoring with a sharp finish after a quick turnover, and the home crowd barely had time to settle before Jan Kuchta doubled the advantage. Sparta’s pressing forced Slovácko into repeated errors in build-up, and the visitors struggled to find any rhythm between the lines.

The pattern continued after the break. Lukáš Haraslín made it 3-0 with a composed effort after being released into space, before Michal Sadílek added a fourth from the edge of the box. Slovácko briefly threatened a consolation when Marek Havlík struck in the 73rd minute, but Sparta restored their four-goal cushion through substitute Kabongo late on.

Key moments

• 12’ – Birmančević opens the scoring: A high turnover releases Sparta’s forward, who finishes low into the corner.
• 28’ – Kuchta doubles the lead: A drilled cross is converted from close range as Slovácko fail to clear.
• 54’ – Haraslín makes it three: Sparta break at speed and the winger finishes a flowing move.
• 73’ – Havlík pulls one back: Slovácko’s best moment of the night gives the travelling fans something to cheer.
• 84’ – Kabongo completes the rout: The substitute adds a fifth after another spell of sustained pressure.

Tactical story

Sparta’s dominance was built on aggressive pressing and quick vertical passing. Their midfield repeatedly won second balls, allowing the front line to attack a retreating Slovácko defence. The visitors attempted to sit compact and counter, but they were unable to hold possession long enough to relieve pressure. Once Sparta scored early, the game opened up exactly as the home side wanted.

Standout performers

Birmančević was central to Sparta’s best moments, combining direct running with intelligent link play. Kuchta’s movement created space for others, while Sadílek controlled the tempo in midfield. For Slovácko, Havlík’s goal was a rare bright spot on a difficult evening, but the defence will need a swift response.

Season impact

The result strengthens Sparta Praha’s position in the Czech Chance Liga standings and adds valuable goal difference to their title challenge. Slovácko, meanwhile, must regroup quickly as they look to avoid a run of negative results. For Sparta, this was more than a win — it was a warning to the rest of the league about their attacking ceiling.
