Henan Wanxianshan Women claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Hebei Snow Ruyi Women in the CFA Women’s League One on Saturday, October 10, 2026. A second-half header from centre-back Zhao Xue was enough to settle a tense, hard-fought encounter, giving Henan a crucial three points in their push for a higher finish.

Match Overview

Hebei Snow Ruyi Women started the match as the more proactive side, enjoying long spells of possession and probing for openings. Their midfield trio moved the ball well, but they struggled to break down a disciplined Henan defence that sat deep and defended in numbers. Henan’s plan was clear: stay compact, frustrate Hebei, and threaten from set-pieces.

That plan paid off in the 72nd minute. A well-delivered corner from Liu Meng found Zhao Xue, who rose highest at the near post and powered a header into the roof of the net. Hebei pushed forward in search of an equaliser and came close when striker Sun Jia struck the crossbar, but Henan held on for a valuable clean sheet.

Key Moments

• 28th minute – Chance: Hebei’s Sun Jia forced a low save from Henan goalkeeper Li Yan after a quick exchange on the edge of the box.
• 72nd minute – Goal: Zhao Xue headed home Liu Meng’s corner to give Henan Wanxianshan Women the lead.
• 84th minute – Crossbar: Sun Jia rattled the woodwork with a curling effort as Hebei pressed for an equaliser.
• 90+2 minutes – Save: Li Yan tipped over a late free-kick to preserve the win.

Tactical Story

Henan lined up in a 4-4-2 formation with a clear emphasis on defensive solidity. Their back four stayed deep, and the midfield worked tirelessly to close down passing lanes. When they won the ball, they looked to release their wingers on the counter, but the primary weapon was always the set-piece.

Hebei’s 4-3-3 system gave them control of the ball, but they lacked penetration in the final third. Their wingers delivered several crosses, yet Henan’s centre-backs dealt with them comfortably. As Hebei committed more players forward late on, Henan nearly doubled their lead on the break, but a last-ditch tackle kept the score at 1-0.

Standout Players

Zhao Xue was the hero for Henan, not only scoring the winner but also putting in a commanding defensive display. Goalkeeper Li Yan was equally important, making two crucial saves in the closing stages. Liu Meng’s delivery from corners was a constant threat.

For Hebei, Sun Jia was the most dangerous player, hitting the crossbar and forcing Li Yan into action. Midfielder Zhang Yue worked hard to drive her team forward, but she was often crowded out by Henan’s compact midfield.

Season Impact

The win moves Henan Wanxianshan Women up to sixth place with 26 points, keeping them in contention for a top-half finish. Hebei Snow Ruyi Women remain eighth on 22 points, having missed a chance to close the gap on the teams above them. Henan’s ability to win tight games could prove decisive in the final weeks of the season.
