Tactical story

Orsomarso’s comeback was built on midfield control and better spacing after the first 20 minutes. Their midfield trio began to win loose balls and circulate possession with more patience, which forced Deportivo Rionegro to defend deeper. Rionegro tried to counter through direct passes into the channels, but Orsomarso’s center-backs handled those moments well and stepped up to squeeze the space. The visitors’ decision to push their left-back higher in the second half created the overlap that eventually led to the winning goal.

Standout players

Orsomarso’s Luis Fernando Mina was influential in the equalizer and constantly found pockets of space between Rionegro’s midfield and defense. Carlos Andrés Rivas delivered the decisive second-half performance, combining movement with composure in the box. For Deportivo Rionegro, Juan Esteban Sánchez scored the opener and worked hard, but the home side lacked the same control in the final 30 minutes.

Season impact

The away win strengthens Orsomarso’s position in the Torneo BetPlay Dimayor standings and reinforces their reputation as a side capable of grinding out results on the road. Deportivo Rionegro remain in a difficult patch, with home points slipping away at a stage of the season when consistency is essential.
