Prostějov and Ústí nad Labem share the spoils in four-goal draw

1.SK Prostějov and FK Viagem Ústí nad Labem played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the Chance Národní Liga on 17 October 2026. The point leaves both teams still searching for a consistent run of form, but the performance served as a reminder of the attacking quality each side possesses.

On a cool autumn afternoon at the Stadion Za Místním nádražím, the hosts twice took the lead, only to be pegged back by a resilient Ústí side that refused to lie down. The draw feels like a missed opportunity for Prostějov, who dominated large spells but were undone by two moments of defensive hesitation.

Match overview

Prostějov began with intent, pressing high and forcing early corners. Their reward came in the 18th minute when Martin Doležal finished neatly from inside the box after a cut-back from the right. The lead lasted until the half-hour mark, when Ústí equalised through a well-worked set piece. A short corner was worked to Petr Šimko, whose curling cross evaded everyone and nestled in the far corner.

Early in the second half, Prostějov restored their advantage. Jakub Svoboda burst through the middle and calmly rounded the goalkeeper to make it 2-1. But Ústí responded again, and this time it was David Černý who struck, latching onto a loose ball 20 yards out and firing a low drive into the bottom corner. Both sides had chances to win it late on, but wayward finishing and some resolute defending ensured the points were shared.

Key moments

• 18' – Martin Doležal opens the scoring for Prostějov.
• 30' – Petr Šimko equalises directly from a corner.
• 52' – Jakub Svoboda restores Prostějov’s lead with a solo goal.
• 71' – David Černý levels for Ústí with a long-range strike.
• 84' – Prostějov’s top scorer misses a clear header.

Tactical story

Prostějov lined up in a 4-3-3, aiming to control the midfield and feed their wide forwards. They succeeded in creating chances but were repeatedly caught on the break when their full-backs pushed too far forward. Ústí, playing a 4-2-3-1, were happy to cede possession and hit on the counter, using the pace of their wingers to stretch the home defence.

The key battle was in central midfield, where Prostějov’s Tomáš Rada consistently won the ball back but lacked a killer final pass. Ústí’s midfield duo sat deep and shielded the back four, forcing Prostějov into crosses that were comfortably dealt with. Both managers made attacking substitutions in the final twenty minutes, but neither could find a winner.

Standout players

Jakub Svoboda was Prostějov’s most dangerous outlet, his direct running causing problems all afternoon. Martin Doležal also impressed with his link-up play. For Ústí, David Černý was the engine in midfield, capping a tireless display with a superb goal, while goalkeeper Lukáš Král made two important saves to preserve the draw.

Season impact

The draw keeps Prostějov in the middle of the Chance Národní Liga table, with their inconsistency preventing a climb towards the promotion places. Ústí nad Labem remain within touching distance of the play-off spots, and this away point will be seen as a valuable one. Both sides will need to turn draws into wins if they are to mount a serious challenge this season.
