CA Huracán made home advantage count on Monday night in the Argentine Division 1, beating Aldosivi Mar del Plata 1-0 at the Estadio Tomás A. Ducó to extend their strong run in front of their own supporters in Parque Patricios.

The match was decided by a single goal in a contest that Huracán largely controlled without ever making life comfortable for themselves. Aldosivi, organised and stubborn in a low block, kept the game alive until the final whistle, but the visitors could not find the equaliser their late pressure hinted at.

Key moments

• 12' — Huracán's first meaningful chance: a clipped ball into the channel releases the right winger, whose low cross is smothered at the near post.
• 28' — Aldosivi's best spell of the half, forcing two corners in quick succession before the home defence clears.
• 41' — The breakthrough. A patient move ends with a shot from the edge of the box that deflects and beats the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.
• 58' — Aldosivi push their full-backs higher and test the Huracán back line with a header that drifts just wide.
• 77' — A double save keeps the visitors in the game, denying Huracán a second goal on the counter-attack.
• 90+4' — Final chance of the night: a long throw into the box is headed over, and the whistle goes.

How Huracán won it

The home side set up to dominate the ball and did exactly that, circulating possession patiently and pushing Aldosivi deep into their own half. The decisive edge came from width — Huracán consistently overloaded the flanks, dragging the visitors' midfield out of shape and creating the space that produced the only goal of the game.

Aldosivi's plan was clear and, for long stretches, effective: defend compactly, deny central space, and look to spring quick counter-attacks through the channels. It worked defensively, limiting Huracán to few clear-cut opportunities, but the visitors lacked the final bit of quality in the attacking third. Their best moments came from set pieces, and on another night one of those deliveries might have found the net.

Standout performers

• The Huracán goalkeeper — Two important second-half stops preserved the clean sheet and the three points.
• The Huracán midfield trio — Controlled the tempo, won the second balls and kept the game in the attacking half.
• The Aldosivi centre-backs — Despite the defeat, they produced a disciplined defensive display, blocking shots and clearing a steady stream of crosses.
• The goalscorer — A well-taken finish under pressure, and the moment that separated the two teams.

What the result means

Three points at home in the Argentine Division 1 are always valuable, and this win keeps Huracán in the leading group of the standings, protecting their record in front of their own fans. For a club with a proud domestic tradition and a passionate following in Buenos Aires, home form is the foundation of any campaign, and this was another brick in that wall.

Aldosivi leave the Ducó with nothing, but the performance was far from a collapse. The Mar del Plata side stayed in the match until the very end, and the narrow margin reflects how little separated the teams on the night. Even so, points on the road are precious in the Argentine top flight, and they will need to convert more of these battling displays into results.

Looking ahead

Huracán will take confidence from a clean sheet and a controlled 90 minutes into their next fixture, while Aldosivi return home looking to sharpen their finishing. The head-to-head record between these two has rarely produced comfortable wins for either side, and this 1-0 scoreline fits neatly into that pattern.

With the league table tightening, both clubs know that the autumn months will shape their seasons. For Huracán, this was a routine job completed professionally. For Aldosivi, it was another reminder of how thin the margins are in Argentina's top division.
