Team Info

tigerscores365 The Pittsburgh Women's basketball team represents the University of Pittsburgh, competing in the NCAA Division I Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), one of the most powerful conferences in women's college basketball. The team, known as the Panthers, plays its home games at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The program has a long history, with its black and gold colors mirroring the university's identity. A key era for the Panthers was the highly successful tenure under coach Agnus Berenato in the 2000s, which included multiple NCAA Tournament appearances and runs to the Sweet Sixteen, establishing the program as a national competitor. The modern era, under coach Lance White and now Tory Verdi, is focused on rebuilding within the brutally tough ACC, aiming to develop talent and pull off conference upsets. The team is known for its gritty, defensive-minded approach. The culture is supported by the Oakland Zoo student section and a dedicated fan base that rallies behind the team as it strives to return to the upper echelon of women's college basketball.
