With a strong emphasis on player development, Lanus LDD has become a respected program in Argentine basketball.

About Club Atlético Lanús

Club Atlético Lanús is a multi-sport club founded in 1915, best known for its football team, which has achieved success in Argentina and South America. The club's basketball section has a proud history of its own, and the creation of the LDD team reflects Lanús's commitment to nurturing homegrown talent. The LDD provides a competitive environment where young players can develop their skills against other top academies in the country.

The Liga de Desarrollo (LDD)

The Liga de Desarrollo is organized by the Argentine Basketball Confederation (CABB) and features reserve and U-23 teams from clubs in the Liga Nacional de Básquet. The league is designed to bridge the gap between youth basketball and professional competition, offering a rigorous schedule that tests players' physical and mental abilities. Lanus LDD has been a regular participant since the league's inception, consistently fielding competitive squads.

Home Arena and Facilities

Lanus LDD plays its home games at the Microestadio Antonio Rotili, a modern indoor arena located within the club's facilities. The arena has a capacity of approximately 2,000 spectators and provides an intimate setting for fans to watch the future stars of Argentine basketball. The club also boasts state-of-the-art training facilities, including weight rooms, recovery areas, and video analysis rooms, all designed to support player development.

Recent Performance and Key Prospects

In the 2023-24 LDD season, Lanus LDD finished third in the regular season with a record of 15-7, earning a spot in the playoffs. The team's success was built on a balanced attack and tenacious defense. Standout performers included point guard Juan Pérez, who led the team in assists, and power forward Lautaro Gómez, a dominant rebounder and scorer. Both players have been called up to practice with the senior team and are considered promising prospects for the future.

The coaching staff, led by head coach Martina Rodríguez, focuses on individual skill development, tactical awareness, and physical conditioning. The team's style of play emphasizes ball movement, fast breaks, and aggressive defense, mirroring the philosophy of the senior team.

Player Development and Pathways

Lanus LDD serves as a direct feeder to the senior Lanús basketball team, which competes in the LNB. Several players have successfully transitioned from the LDD to the professional roster in recent years, including shooting guard Facundo López and center Nicolás Sánchez. The club also has a network of scouts and coaches who monitor young talent across Argentina, ensuring that the best prospects are brought into the Lanús system. Beyond basketball, the program emphasizes education and character development, preparing players for life on and off the court.

Season Outlook and Ambitions

For the 2024-25 LDD season, Lanus LDD aims to improve on last year's playoff run and challenge for the league title. The roster has been bolstered by the addition of several highly touted U-19 players, including shooting guard Santiago Fernández and forward Matías Herrera. With a strong core returning and a renewed focus on defensive intensity, the team is confident in its ability to compete for a championship. Fans can follow the team's progress through the LDD standings and match reports on the club's official website.
