Team Info

tigerscores365 Immaculata University's Mighty Macs basketball team, located in Immaculata, Pennsylvania, is a storied program competing in NCAA Division III as a member of the Atlantic East Conference. The team plays its home contests at Alumnae Hall. The program's founding is deeply intertwined with the university's Catholic heritage. The Mighty Macs famously rose to national prominence in the early 1970s in women's basketball, winning three consecutive AIAW national championships from 1972 to 1974 under coach Cathy Rush, a legendary era depicted in film and celebrated as a pioneering moment for women's sports. That period defined the team's identity, built on teamwork, fundamentals, and groundbreaking success. In the modern coeducational athletic department, both the men's and women's teams honor that legacy while competing with grit in their conference. The fan base and campus community hold a deep reverence for the team's history, creating a supportive environment. Immaculata basketball stands as a living testament to a rich and inspiring sporting history.
