Team Info

tigerscores365 The Changwon LG Sakers 2 team is the development squad for the prestigious Changwon LG Sakers of the Korean Basketball League (KBL). Based in Changwon, South Korea, this reserve team competes in the KBL's minor league or local development tournaments, operating out of the same training facilities as the senior team. The squad serves as a crucial bridge between the Sakers' youth academy and the professional ranks, wearing the parent club's signature blue and white colors. Its management and coaching are integrated with the main club, focusing squarely on player progression. The team was formed as part of the Sakers' long-term strategy to cultivate homegrown talent, providing young players with competitive minutes in a structured environment. The "2" designation clearly marks its role within the club's ecosystem. While its history is defined by development rather than trophy collection, its key era is measured by the success of its alumni. Numerous players have graduated from the Sakers 2 team to become KBL All-Stars and vital contributors to the senior team's championship runs, marking the program's greatest achievement. The modern era of the Sakers 2 team continues this mission, with a current roster of promising Korean prospects honing their skills under professional coaching. Their recent results are evaluated not by wins and losses, but by individual player growth and readiness for the top level. The team culture is one of hard work and learning, with an atmosphere more akin to an intensive training camp than a traditional fan-driven club. In summary, Changwon LG Sakers 2 is the essential engine room for future talent, playing a silent but critical role in sustaining the Sakers' success in the KBL.
