MKB Euroleasing Women Defeat Serbia Student (W) 89-71 in EuroCup Women

MKB Euroleasing Women opened their EuroCup Women account with a solid 89-71 home win over Serbia Student (W) on October 15, 2026. The Hungarian club used a balanced offense and a strong second-quarter run to pull away from a determined Serbian side and secure a comfortable victory.

The 18-point margin was built on efficient shooting, aggressive rebounding, and a defensive effort that limited Serbia Student’s best offensive weapons.

Match Overview

MKB Euroleasing started the game with good energy, attacking the basket and moving the ball side to side. Serbia Student kept the game close early, using quick ball movement and timely three-point shooting to stay within striking distance. However, the hosts’ depth and physicality began to take over as the first half progressed.

The quarter breakdown showed MKB’s control:

• First quarter: MKB Euroleasing 24, Serbia Student 18
• Second quarter: MKB Euroleasing 22, Serbia Student 15
• Third quarter: MKB Euroleasing 21, Serbia Student 19
• Fourth quarter: MKB Euroleasing 22, Serbia Student 19

MKB won each quarter, gradually extending their lead and never allowing Serbia Student to mount a serious comeback.

Key Moments

The game’s turning point came in the second quarter. With MKB leading 30-24, they went on a 14-4 run over a four-minute stretch, fueled by three-pointers and fast-break buckets. That pushed the lead to 16 and forced Serbia Student into a timeout.

Serbia Student briefly cut the deficit to 12 in the third quarter, but MKB responded with a 7-0 run of their own. From there, the hosts controlled the tempo and closed out the game with steady free-throw shooting and smart clock management.

Tactical Story

MKB Euroleasing’s offensive balance was the story of the night. They attacked inside with their post players, kicked out to shooters when the defense collapsed, and pushed the pace whenever possible. The result was a high assist total and a shooting percentage that Serbia Student could not match.

Defensively, MKB focused on limiting Serbia Student’s perimeter looks. They closed out hard on shooters and forced the visitors into contested mid-range shots. On the glass, MKB’s size advantage was clear, as they controlled both offensive and defensive rebounds.

Standout Players

MKB Euroleasing received strong contributions from their starting five, with multiple players finishing in double figures. Their guards controlled the tempo and knocked down important shots, while their frontcourt dominated the paint. The bench also provided valuable minutes, maintaining the intensity and helping the team sustain its lead.

For Serbia Student (W), there were positive moments, particularly in transition and from beyond the arc. However, their defensive rebounding struggles and inability to generate stops in key moments proved costly. They will need to tighten up their half-court defense in future EuroCup Women fixtures.

Season Impact

With the 89-71 win, MKB Euroleasing Women begin their EuroCup Women campaign with a strong home result and a useful point differential. The victory puts them in a good position in the group standings and builds confidence ahead of tougher matchups. Serbia Student (W), meanwhile, will look to learn from the loss and find more consistency on both ends of the floor.
